4th Generation Regret?

Or get a Highlander or the new RAV4. Just saw one when I parked next to it in a parking lot and it is almost as big as the RX, maybe the same size inside and the interior of the XLE I saw looked very nice!

Perhaps the Highlander
Highlander, maybe! RAV4? No way. That is nearly as ugly (all over) as the front of the current Lexus!
How I miss the days that Lexus exteriors exudes elegance and class. They just look busy and “trying too hard” now.

Did you look at the link to the redesigned 2019 RAV4? The front end actually looks like an SUV should look these days. Nothing like the prior generation. Also the 3 or 4 trim variations have vastly different appearances.

Back in October my wife decided she wanted to return to an RX as her daily driver (she drove a 2000 RX300 from August 2003 until February 2007 and then a 2004 RX330 from February 2007 until February 2012). Both of us despise the 2016-and-newer locomotive cowcatcher Lexus grills so I searched for and found a well-cared-for 2015 RX350 with 32,000 miles and the remaining factory warranty through late August (which should give me plenty of time to get the vehicle exactly like I want it from a long-term DIY maintenance perspective). While her 2000 RX300 was a dog, her 2004 RX330 was a rock-solid vehicle. We hope that her 2015 RX350 will follow in her 2004 RX330's footsteps. Time will tell, but thus far we have no regrets. I suspect that this vehicle will wind up being the last ICE we ever purchase after more than 49 years since we each obtained our drivers licenses..

exactly my thoughts...I bought the 15 and am waiting until the next gen which hopefully will change the exterior grill and the 'flying roof design. Also I personally I prefer a touch screen...

Recently drove a 2019 rx350 loaner
Recently drove a 2019 xr 350 loaner when I was servicing my car. I was exited to try it out as my parents have a 2014 . I was severely disappointed. The engine noise, the rough suspension, lack of cushion on the seats, the lack of torque, I still have a back pain after 2 days. I don’t even know what to say about the design concept, though I liked the interior design. The roads n Omaha is a shame and I was expecting some sort of shock absorber consolation. NADA. first time I am glad I bought the used ls 600h. It’s worlds apart. I do like the 2014 xr 350. That still had the Lexus pampering on and doesn’t feel like I have an evil deception in my garage
that’s just my opinion, that said, “ unity in diversity”

I bought a 2010 RX specifically for the classic grille look, shared with the '11 and '12 models. And fell in love with the "shiftless" hybrid version. Power flow just like a turbine. Now, when I ride in a shifting car it feels old-fashioned, like a necessary compromise, which I guess it is, or was.

Honestly idgaf what the new one looks like lol. I drive the 3rd gen RX because it's known for its reliability. I drive 350 miles each week on a highway, through the worst winters in North America, and I need something solid like the RX. Once the 4th gen refresh with the touch screen starts showing up on the used market I'll be snatching one up. I have no reason to switch away from the RX. It serves me well.

A couple of observations about the Generation 4 grill: 1) I'm one of many people who give feedback to Lexus periodically about various issues, and some time ago they elicited opinions about the new grill. I happen to be not a fan of that, for what little that is worth...
2) in recent TV ads for the RX350, I'm noting that they position the car and lighting such that the lower half of the grill is heavily in shadows, and doesn't look nearly as prominent as it does when you see one on the road.
Might this be a sign that the grill is unappealing to a lot of potential buyers?
