Default 2014 RX350 Brake Actuator Noise?

Dear Forum:

I'm driving a leased 2014 RX350 AWD with almost 50K. Car is covered under a CPO warranty. About two weesk ago, I noticed a dull clunk or clank sound coming from under the hood almost every time I step on the brakes. The sound occurs only once when pedal pressure is applied and the brakes slow the car. I can reproduce the sound repeatedly under a slow or fast stop. The sound is obviously not normal and with the windows open it's downright annoying. Web searches uncover brake actuator complaints with other Lexus models and varying degrees of responsiveness from Lexus reported by owners. The brake actuator sound appears to match my car's symptom. There might even be a TSB out on the problem, but I couldn't identify if the RX 3rd gen is affected. Has anyone encountered this issue and had it repaired by Lexus?

Thank you for feedback.

My wife's RX350 makes a brake sound when she releases the brake pedal after coming to a full stop. Sounds like a little squeak from the floor near the pedal. Just to clarify, the sound u notice is when u are applying the brake?

Couple other possibilities :

Others have noted noise from brake pads shifting in their holders, possible issues with shims.

Also consider tightening frame bolts, slightly loose bolts can cause a noise that only occurs while braking, or accelerating, or both.

Just take it to the dealer since it is under CPO warranty. If it is the very expensive actuator, then be happy it is covered. I doubt it is the typical pad shift noises others suggested. If you do some searching others have had actuator issues, but they usually had to pay for the replacement. Another good reason to have your brake fluid flushed every 2 or 3 years, is that it reduces the chance of this failure occurring.

I absolutely doubt it's actuator. It simply does not make clunking noise.
My safe bet is on failing engine or transmission mount. Specifically, dog bone or rear torque mount, as they control longitudinal power train displacement during braking and acceleration. Both are quite easy to replace. I ahd ALL of mounts replaced on my 2012 Highlander Hybrid at around 90K and they all were in various stages of deterioration. Torque mount was the worst.
