Default RX 350 F-Sport 2013 roof rails installation ?

I just bought a 2013 RX 350 F-Sport in Quebec, Canada. I have a Ski box and I need roof rails to install it. Does anyone know if it can be installed on an RX 350 F-Sport manufactured for the Canadian market.

There are four plastic covers that usually mean there is place to screw the rails.

However, I've had different opinions from the dealers I consulted and from a forum member on the NX section of the forum. One said yes from the top of the car and the other told me it needed to the inside head liner to be removed.

Does anyone know, if it is possible to install the rails (I already bought from a used parts seller) from the top of the vehicle without having to remove the inside head liner? Also, The F-Sport version of the RX was originally sold without rails in Canada and with rails in USA when it was assembled at the same plan in Canada.

Thanks in advance.

There is plenty of discussion on this topic. Please use search. I will do some in my spare time and add the link here.

Not sure about F Sport model, but for the RX350/450H] there is a plastic drain channel and four (roughly 4" long) books that need to be pushed back and removed to install the rails.

It will be a pretty penny to add buying new. I would search the salvage yards [that is what I did]. Make sure they provide you with the proper bolts. [that by itself adds up to about $75].

Slats cost extra.

Thank you very much Salimshah for these very useful tricks.

However, my question is specific to the RX 350 F Sport model manufactured for the Canadian market.Should I have to remove the headliner to install the roof rails on this model.

Remove one of the plastic covers & see how the roof structure was prepped. My bet is the nut assemblies are already there.

I just checked this afternoon, and the roof structure was effectively set up (part 6317842010 is in place).
So I can install my roof rails. I'm gonna do that in the next weeks before the ski season beginning.
I have to find used screws (part 632304210), they new ones are very expensive at the dealership $21CAN each.
Thanks for your advice

Part 632304210 is the part I've seen through hole top

New bolts have a dry thread lock on them. I bought all 8 for about $80 (US). Unfortunately they are not straight bolts that you can match the threads and use.

If you do find a used set, you can possibly use a thread lock liquid. I am not sure if you should use red or blue. Check with dealership.

I finally installed roof rails today. Here are the parts I used:
- 8 bolts (parts 6223042010) at a cost of $ 10.22 CAN / each. The bolts have a rubber washer to seal. They also have red lock tite.
- 4 Roof luggage carrier side rail gaskets (parts 6343748010) at a cost of $ 4.76 CAN / each.
- 6 inches DUM DUM caulk strip, for sealing under the luggage carrier side rail gasket

Thank you very much Salim for your very helpful advices.

I will install my ski box on the roof at the end of next week to start my season at the Massif de Charlevoix.

Allo Yves.
Quebec ici aussi! Since we have the same model I'd be interested to see the way it looks with a ski box on top. If you ever get a chance. Merci
