Rattling Sound
Hey everyone,
First off I wanted to say that this is a great forum ! I had posted few questions in several threads and guys were very helpful.
I wanted to ask if anyone experienced the annoying rattling sound that comes from the top front where the sunroof meets the front panel where are the sunglasses holder and the sunroof controls. if I push that part tight up or down the rattling disappears and it gets less noticeable if the plastic cover is closed. This sound really annoys me since I can hear it every time I go over a bump.
The car is RX450H 2015 with 71K on it.
If someone had this issue or knows how to deal with it, the help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

typically for any rattling you have to disassemble the part and either see if there is something broken or a foreign piece there and replace or remove the item.
if something is not broken and its just loose, then the solution typically revolves around placing pieces of felt either to tighten up a connection or be between the rattling surfaces.
if you dont feel comfortable disassembling your body trim where truthfully sometimes you do have to pry and force snap connectors and sometimes they break; then go to a dealer or bodyshop to help you.
half the battle is finding the rattle, if you've already found it, a toyota/lex competant tech should be able to reduce or remove the noise.
what you decide to do depends on how much it bothers you vs how much you want to spend and if you already have goodwill or an existing service relationship with a lexus dealer. if you always dealer sercice and just plopped down $2000 for a major service, typically a dealer will do this for you free next appointment. . if you're some joe off the street they may charge you an hour labor.

Raytseng,
Thanks for the reply. I will talk to the dealer to see how much would they charge for this. I am not sure I want to do it myself, break something and then still go to the dealer.
