Text messages no longer being read or on screen
I've owned my 2015 RX350 for about two years and until recently when I received a text message, it would show up on the screen and a voice would read it. It no longer does either. I'm using a Galaxy S5 Android version 6.0.1 on Verizon. The phone has had several updates in the last few months and I'm wondering if that has something to do with the problem. Should I "delete" the phone from the Lexus system and "re-install" it? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I have an AT&T Samsung S5 and my wife's Prius can read my text messages and emails to me. Go into Bluetooth settings on your phone. Press the settings "wheel" icon for your RX under Paired devices. Under "Allow access to", set "Message Access" to ON.

I don't have any experience with Android, as I'm an iPhone user, so this may or may not apply. When I get an iOS update on my iPhone, it often changes the settings I have in Notifications. I have to go back in and set it up again. Double check all the settings on your phone to see if everything is as it should be.

I think a bug with Lexus. I asked in prior post about issues with my HTC (android 6). Dealer had same issue with another HTC when paired to my car but my Samsung S6 worked fine.
Now my HTC is inconsistent... sometimes it reads the incoming text and most of the time not. All settings are proper.

he said usually a Samsung will work fine, but with an iPhone you should be able to read a text but you cannot send a text
