Default Nav. Update/ Possible Dealer Issue

Greetings,
Enjoying the new RX. Prior to my delivery in December, I had asked the salesman if I had current Nav.15 update. He said I did. I did not and with the Holidays it became an afterthought. New update was released in Oct. or Nov., if I'm not mistaken. 5K service performed at a different dealer and 10K service this coming Wednesday at original dealer.

Should Lexus have updated my Nav. prior to my delivery in December and do I have any room to negotiate here?

Thanks guys...

EDIT: I have 14.1 and I should have (based on my purchase in December) 15.1, released fall 2015.

If the salesman said "yes" and it was not installed, I would think they remain obligated to provide it for you.

I guess I'm confused as to what Lexus considers "current" in these end of year sales. I'm not questioning the rep's integrity. Just thought this issue may have come up with the success of the "December to Remember" event. If 14.1 is considered current through the cycle of MY 2015, my question is moot.

DavoMS, Lexus usually releases updates in the fall. So if you negotiated that as part of the sale, then yes, they should update it. According to the website, 14.1 means calendar year 2014. You are now almost two years behind. But maybe you can ask for the more current version which should be out in a month or two. If that doesn't work, sometimes dealers offer a special price on the update. Unfortunately it won't include installation but it's better than nothing. Good luck.

Two questions - related -- please forgive the hijack.

1) What's the typical upgrade cost?
2) How can I tell which version I currently have?

F250, the website link I provided above includes how to check the version you have. Look under GEN7. The cost with dealer installation typically runs about $300. But like I mentioned, sometimes the update itself is priced lower. The dealer usually sends a postcard to announce it.
