Default Flying mad with service

Well, I take my RX 350 into Love Lexus in St. Albans, WV., and get the 5000 miles service done. When I go out to get in the vehicle something told me to do a walk around. Get back to the rear passenger tire and the bumper has been scraped and also pulled out. It now has a small crease on the fender well right where the bumper meets the fender. I go get the service manager and he acts like he doesn't have a clue what happened. Which he probably didn't. He then goes in and questions the service guy and he doesn't either. I went in and spoke with a salesman and had him look at it. He said he would order a new bumper and get it fixed. He immediately calls the body shop they use and gets the ball rolling. The service manager was just going to have his boss call me Monday.

I'm just flying mad that the vehicle only has 5000 miles on it and now I'm going to have to get a new bumper. I hope to God the paint matches up. It's starfire pearl too. Man I'm pissed!!!!!!

Aggravating as it is...crap happens.
Also have had issues (wheel damage and fender scratch)over the years with Lexus service.
At least the repair is being done.

Yes at least they are putting a whole new bumper on. I was afraid they wouldn't. It scraped also. I'm just surprised.

note: the plastic bumper covers dont match the metal painted surfaces 100% in shade. Nature of the beast.
FYI

Very true. Every Lexus I've owned has very slight difference in shading on bumper covers. Some colors more than others. My Starfire White CT had this and when I looked at every other one on the new car lot they also had it. This is normal.

ross072566, sorry to hear the dealer won't repair the damage. Have you been in touch with Lexus Corporate? There's a few ways to do that including through CL. Here is the forum. Keep records of all conversations in the meantime. Good luck and please let us know what happens.

I called customer service and they said my case would be forwarded and they would call me back in two business days. Thank you for the help. After speaking with them I have calmed down a little. Not a lot, but a little. It is going to be really hard to be able to stay calm when I take the loaner ES back.

That's good. They'll get in touch with the dealer on your behalf. Try to relax if you can. Maybe ask the dealer to drop off your RX and pick up the ES loaner so you don't have to see anyone there. And again I wish you luck getting it resolved .

It's an almost an hour drive for them. I don't know if they will do that. Would you trust them to do that? Seriously.

My dealer is 45 minutes away. I had them drop off my 330 when I had the headlights replaced. Otherwise it would've been my third trip to the dealer in a month. I only suggested it so you don't have to speak to anyone at the dealer other than when you make the request. But I can understand you probably won't under the circumstances. Bring someone with you as a distraction when you drop off the ES.

My wife will be going. She will probably be able to keep me calm.

Default I feel your pain...

I just got a call back from Lexus Corporate as well, not 30minutes ago regarding an issue on my wife’s RX350. Foundout that they were willing cover only ˝ of the $3900 cost to replace my CamGears. The warranty literally expired38 days ago; the car has 53,000 miles. I would frankly get prepared for a similar responsefrom Corporate. My guess is the Dealeris going to have to step up to the plate for yoru damage. A fellow Lexus at work that dealt with LexusCorporate told me they are “Hard Core”; which I experience has shown to betrue. I hope someone takes responsibility.

BTW: They should havea walk-around inspection when you arrived noting any damage … if it isn’t on their report then they don’thave a leg to stand on.

I agree with zogy. If no previous damage was noted when the car was taken in, then they are responsible. Unfulfilled expectations always leads to upset. I recommend taking several deep breaths, seriously, when you arrive, and think of them as your friends that will be privileged to repair your car and not adversaries that you have to outwit. "Keep calm, and Lexus on."
