I just brought home a 2015 RX350 F-Sport a few weeks ago.. There are a few things I can't figure out which are phone-related. I'm using an iPhone 5S.

1 - When I make an outbound call to one of my contacts, the nav screen shows that I'm calling a "Private" number. My iPhone 5S shows the correct contact name, but the Lexus always shows it as "Private" for an outbound call. Any ideas?

2 - Am I correct in assuming that with "Show Contact Image" enabled, the Lexus nav screen should show a picture of the contact I'm on the phone with? I can't seem to get this working.

3 - I can get incoming text messages to display on the nav screen, but I can't find how to reply to them using the nav screen. There are a bunch of pre-canned quick reply messages in the Lexus setup.. how do I get to these?

#1 - I think mine shows Private Number also. However, I just thought of: a) are you using Siri to call out, which might make Lexus say "private". If you use the Lexus phone or Lexus Voice commands, it may show correctly - don't know.

#2 - This is probably due to Apple not allowing you to do "everything" with your phone

#3 - This is definitely due to Apple. The only way to reply to a text message with an iPhone is to use Siri thru the steering wheel and tell her to send a message.

 

I have an iphone 6 and lexus' site doesn't say what capabilities I have integrated with my 2015 RX. I noticed that the Messages option in the phone screen in the nav seems permanently disabled. I've seen people say they can receive texts with iphone but I don't know how? Can anyone educate me on this one?

Does anyone have an iphone 6 that can receive incoming text messages and display it on the nav?

 

To display incoming text messages on the nav from an iPhone, you need to set it up in your phone Bluetooth settings.

In Settings, go to Bluetooth, then click on the "i" next to the appropriate connection (should be labeled something like "LEXUS RX" or "CAR MULTIMEDIA"). In that menu, make sure "Show Notifications" is turned on (green).

As noted, the iPhone is not compatible with the Lexus canned message responses.

So the messaging works which is awesome. However i noticed that siri eyes free doesn't work for some reason. I push and hold the hang up button (the one that is used to end a call) but I get nothing but some error-like sounding beep.

Yes - you need to hold down the Off Hook button, not the hangup button.

 

Yeah ... I realized this after scouring CL forums and online. Off hook doesn't mean hang up :O

 

I have an Iphone 6, i disconnected and reconnected the phone it, when making calls through the bluetooth it rings twice and then disconnects the call? any suggestions?

I'm waiting 4 days until IOS 8.1 is released. Bluetooth issues reportedly will be resolved.
