guys, I found www.trueCar.com pretty cool do you have any idea?
Go to edmunds.com and build your RX. You will get retail cost as well as what others are paying for the car you want in your area. You should receive a discount on the basic car as well as everything else you add to the basic car cost. You can even dicker your cost on the new 2015 RX.

Never ever pay sticker price for a new car ! Every dealer will discount.

If you're trading in your car the Edmunds site will give you a good idea what it's worth both as a trade to the dealer as well as to a private buyer.

Truecar is good for newer cars that have been sold in higher volumes. Honestly, though, the best way to negotiate a good deal is to (1) search around and find out what invoice price is for the base model and each option you order. (2) Research and understand what the current dealer incentives are so you can adjust your baseline offer of invoice price accordingly.

Thanks to all but show is going on... (till I post my RX picture here )

Hey guys I just got, Navigation package adds about 8K to the base price which is really high but I believe its worth! Isnt it? I cant imagine a Lexus RX without a display, but what a minute! does RX350 comes with monitor if I dont add a Navigation package? will be there a standalone display? well if its not connected I guess it wont be there, huh?
I had a '14 IS250 loaner, and it had a 7" display. No Nav, though. So, perfect!

I bought 3 of our last brand new cars using e-mail. I would e-mail all of dealerships in the area for price quotes. You must know exactly what you want to do that.
The best price for the 450h was in Philly, so I drove there to pick it up.

From what I've seen, I think TrueCar average price paid seems to be a bit high when it comes to the RX. There's a thread on here somewhere that talks about 2014 RX price paid and people are getting way better deals than what truecar showed when I looked at it. Granted, if you can get the TrueCar price through a dealer, I'd say that's a pretty good deal. It always helps to have a few dealers close to you.

Hi vartig,
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but all RX 350's come with monitor screens. They show the HVAC settings, outside temperature, audio/radio display/settings, telephone info such as number dialed, sorry - Suri/iPhone maps don't come thru. Optional is the GPS software, nav pkg. We don't have the nav package on our '11 RX, so I'm surprised it's 8K extra.
Do you know what you get for 8K besides GPS?
I can see you're excited, and rightfully so, but please don't let your excitement get ahead of what you really want and can use.
Have you seen the new NX? I mention this because it looks to me like something you would like, and you mentioned waiting for the 2015's. The NX comes out in the fall.
Here are some pix and info.

Just doesn't seem if one can get clarity on this one. Does the rear wheels receive torque when the
front wheels start slipping or do the RX have torque to all four wheels all the time? When did Lexus
switch to the electronic centre diff, I know they did, but from what year?
I do think it is important to know, maybe not for a guy who drives in a perfect world, but we know
that gets more and more remote. The more you know about your car, the better you can use it.
Also very important to know as much as possible if you're shopping around for an SUV.

They made the change more than likely with the start of the 3rd Generation RX with its new 6-speed transmission regarding the AWD system on the RX350. Used to be a 50/50 split from the start. Now, it is all FWD to as much as 50/50. So, it seems that in the new setup the rear tires never get more than 50%.

Intelligent All-Weather Drive
With available Active Torque Control All-Weather Drive, the RX 350 is ready for any weather. The electronically controlled system can vary the torque distribution from purely front-wheel drive to a 50:50 split between front and rear wheels. When accelerating, or starting on a low-grip surface, torque is quickly provided to all four wheels. At steady speeds, torque is sent only to the front wheels, prioritizing fuel efficiency.

http://pressroom.lexus.com/releases/...s+standard.htm

This is what it used to say for the 2008 MY:

Advanced All-Wheel Drive
The AWD RX 350 model features a viscous limited-slip center differential, which enhances drivability in all types of driving conditions. The full-time AWD system provides a constant 50/50 front-to-rear power split. If slippage occurs, the viscous differential directs torque to the wheels with the most traction.

Yes, NX a sweet vehicle!

A stripper 2010-2014 RX has a one-color basic LCD screen you will NOT be able to view any video on it from a video source. See pics.

For 2015, all RX's will now have a standard 7" color LCD display similar to the 7" display I have in my IS (non-Nav).

Have you dealt with a Lexus dealer yet? Granted some are pushy, but in my experience, the 2 salesmen I've dealt with are very nice, won't look down to you, patient, and not like ANY other salesmen I've encountered...ever. I have had 6 dealers look for a car for me and 3 of them were pushy, the other 3 were excellent and took their time to listen to me and talk to me for however long I wanted.

As others have said, make sure and test drive one for a long time - don't just take it around a few blocks. Also, while you have it out, look over the interior carefully - you'll find things you like and things you may not like so much (color of headliner, color of floor, etc. Some colors in my opinion clash so make sure you like the color combination you end up with). Of course, some things are nitpicky and you'll find that on any car, but you're spending good money for this car so you want to make sure you are ok with everything on it. Play with the remote touch (not while driving of course) to make sure you think it'll be to your liking. The Nexus 5 should connect just fine (no experience here as I have an iphone. the iphone can connect to siri with a push of a button on the steering wheel - the nexus 5 (and other phones) cannot do the same thing with android's version of siri). You can go ahead and try connecting your phone while on the test drive as it's simple to remove it from there once you're done.

The sales person you have may not end up knowing a lot about options so research them yourself. The lexus.com site does a pretty good job of showing the packages and individual options (head up display, LED headlamps, parking assist, pre-collision system with dynamic radar cruise control, mark levinson stereo, blind spot monitor, heated/cooled seats). NOTE: don't expect to find every option on every car because some you won't find unless you special order a car. Parking Assist seemed to be on about half the cars I looked at. BSM seemed to be on most cars. HUD was on one car (out of 7 or 8 that I looked at). ML stereo is found only on Luxury package. LED is found only on luxury package (which are very limited). PCS is even more limited. Of course, different packages include some of these options.

The salesperson may not even know a lot about the tech inside as they have to deal with every car lexus has so a tech specialist might be good to talk to so he/she can go over some of the finer parts of the remote touch (after you buy, they should go over everything in detail with you so make sure they do, because you may not realize it does something that you'll find interesting).
Make sure and have the dealer set any "only-dealer-settable" options that you don't have the ability to set yourself. I don't remember these off the top of my head, but they'll have a list.

No matter what you pick, you can't beat Lexus quality. I don't think I'll look elsewhere, even though some cars might currently have better tech inside.
Thanks Mors and ALL, as you advised I went to a dealer close to me in Beverly Hills & met Curt in Lexus of Beverly Hills. He told me everything from car packages to finance & lease costs. yes you were right about dealers. right person right info!
Well I got that standard Lexus RX350 is the great match for me & I dont need any additional package. Navigator costs more $5K that I wont need it while my Nexus5 phone shows me everything. Jurt also connected my phone to car display via Bluetooth & I find it cool!

Im planing to make my purchase on Memorial day when I can get some more discount & OFF.

Im still investigating & looking for more data about my future Lexus RX 350 & it would be great to hear from you again & again. I really appreciate the data you gave me so far & I will be more than happy if you guys share your experiences with me more.

Have a great great time on your Easter weekend with your family & Lexus!!!

Default Saw the 2015 RX today

So I went to my Lexus dealer today and saw my first 2015 RX ! The only thing I saw new were the new wheels that come with navigation, and the new mouse button for the navigation unit. Even the salesman said there is really no difference between the 2014 and 2015.

The salesman did say the 2015 RX costs about $400 more on average than the 2014.

I decided to pass on the 2015 RX for now. With the new NX coming out this fall or winter I'll wait to check it out first. I can always get the 2015 RX at that time if I don't like the NX.

I like our RAV4...but it's not a Lexus !

Hello Vartig (and everyone else), first post here, because I bought my first Lexus yesterday (Easter Sunday).

I started with building a 2014 RX350 FWD on line (Lexus.com) and then if you click on the Request Quote, you can send your info to a local Dealer. I used Lexus of Westminster (Calif) and a great guy named Chase contacted me (this was last Friday). Saturday I went to Cerritos Lexus and looked at what they had to offer.

The one I liked was the 2014 Pearl White w/Gray interior, the Nav and a bunch of other options pushing the MSRP up to $49700 (approx.) the price we got from Westminster was $42,600 (approx.) or about $7k off, Cerritos was only offering about $5k off and did not have a Gray interior. Neither Dealer would/could come down anywhere close to that on the 2015 models and yeah they looked about the same to me, one even had the exact same rims.

If you wait until Memorial Day, there may be very slim pickings left of 2014's and the 2015's MSRP is (approx.) $1k MORE, so I seriously doubt you will get as good of deal on a 2015 May 26th as you would on a 2014 on April 21st.

DO NOT talk to the salesmen as you walk onto the Lot: ONLY deal with the Fleet/Internet sales guys!

I suggest you get your best deal right now from Beverly Hills Lexus, then contact Chase and with a 45 minute drive (405 to the 22), I would suspect you will save a few thousand...!

Cheers

Hey Dreamlab,
First let me congraduate you for your new Lexus RX350!!!
Then Im so happy to be here & tnx for sharing your story with us.
& WOW $7K DISCOUNT is awesome!!

Well, to be honest now I cant effort buying (since Im not going to lease) but in May I will.
in other hand Im kind of start thinking about 2015 too, if Im going to pay $1K more or $400 as 4482 said then Im sure it will make sense if I want to sell it years later... huh?
but is it really $400-$1K more? in that case I will definitely go with 2015!

Im asking this again "Do you guys think that I can get a good discount on Memorial Day?"

Which one do you guys think I should buy 2014 or 2015 assuming I will get same discount for both?

again tnx to Dreamlab for your share. I will think about it

Be sure to tell that to the Chevy dealers who will get an allotment of the upcoming 2015 Corvette Z06.
