sandy14, I'm glad you're holding off on doing anything right away. You're probably still feeling overwhelmed after researching a bunch of SUVs. A month or two break is a good idea.

Voice command doesn't seem to like female voices in general so I rarely use it. I also understand the convenience of touch screen. RT took some time to get used to. But I appreciate the convenience of making changes without having to lean forward. One thing I don't miss, fingerprints on the nav screen. My OCD would be off the charts

Have you taken a look at the official NX thread? It would be interesting to know your thoughts. Maybe you can talk to your salesperson about it. He sounds like a decent guy. We'll try to help you out as much as we can.

Also, they are much harder to use when driving. Your finger is bouncing around and it's hard to poke the screen. Not the case with a tactile feedback joystick!

So you really prefer the remote touch? It just seems like backward technology to me.

^^^I prefer it too since I like a clean screen and a better position with the driver's line-of-sight . I'm used to the RTI and quite honestly, most of the functions I use is changing radio stations or volume controlled at the steering wheel, all at fingertip's reach.

Me too. It took a little bit of an adjustment to get used to, but now I don't even really have to think about it. Very easy. Plus, I cannot stand the fingerprints all over a touch screen.

Yup, it is much better in my opinion. Like the corrado and JCR say, you avoid all the nasty fingerprint smudges. This would be more important for people who keep their hands moisturized, especially in the winter.

I am okay with the touchpad remote touch system too. At least your arm and hand aren't bouncing around while driving.

The BMW x5's are absolutely great to drive but are very expensive relative to the Japanese stuff and no doubt less reliable, but way better performance. I would also say that the MDX drives meaningfully better but is a bit bigger as well. But they are really good. You should test drive one, brand new model available now. Regards. Ned.

I have looked at the MDX online. What do you think of the interior and is the ride as smooth as Lexus? I'm thinking of at least giving it a look although I still think the RX looks better.

I don't know about waiting for the 16s. I'm not really liking the way the new NX looks and they might make the next gen RX look similar.

It is also most likely that the price of the next gen RX will increase significantly to separate itself from the NX.
