~3 months, a little less if it will be coming from Canada and most 350s in N.America are sourced from here. If VIN starts with J = Japan, if "2" = Canada.

Did you order a 2015? Congrats BTW!

For me I waited about four months from the day I placed the order until it arrived in the US from Japan. Special orders are only processed once a month from the dealer. I was told it goes to California first where it is reviewed and accepted. Soon after a build date is issued. Assembly took all of a week. Then the 450h enjoyed a month long cruise. It's not easy but definitely worth the wait to get exactly what you want.

What packages/options are you looking for? It might be better to expand your search area first. There will be plenty of 2015s to choose from in the next few weeks.

I don't know if this is true, but Kitlz can shed light on the matter.
My Sales guy ( have bought 4 cars/SUVs) from him in 10 years said that there's little wiggle room with built to orders.
Same goes if they have to get it from a different dealer.
I know it sounds like BS but when he explained which part, i kinda believed him.

The Lexus loyalty discount ($1,000) and the financing discount from LFS ( depends on the month) WON'T be affected, it's the difference betwee the MSRP and the purchase price.

So i made a compromise and just chose what they have on the lot with the most options that i wanted.

I was specifically looking for the rear DVD Entertainment that is from LeXus and not dealer installed.

I was told no discounts on special orders too but my sales guy gave me one. It wasn't exactly the 10% many people have gotten, close enough though. There was the time I didn't call him back immediately and he knocked off several few hundred. Maybe I should've done that a few times, LOL! The final price also had to be adjusted since I wanted the LED headlights. They weren't included in any of the packages I ordered. It was available as an option. So that was added and an amount equal to the cost of the HIDs was deducted from the comfort package.

Geez, a few years ago I recall seeing a few RXs with RSES at my dealer. Even more reason to expand the search area. You might just find what you're looking for.

Don't wait to long on the custom order or you will get into the model year switchover and that can add additional time while you wait for a 2015.

BINGO - that's where I'm at now. I ordered a 2014 On 11/18/2013. On 02/10/2014, the dealer called and said they refused the order because it was too late. So that same day, they ordered a 2015. Who knows when/if I'll get it. They're saying late May probably. I'm not holding my breath. If it arrives, fine. If not, I'll get the new gen.

^^^ New Gen will be in a year from now at least, if you can wait.

yeah, I don't mind waiting, now that the "new car fever" is gone. But the wife said just get it (I currently have an 02 RX that could use new shocks/struts, and a couple of squeaks under the engine (due to AC fan I think), and a creak on right rear suspension area - other than that, I still like driving it). She mentioned we might not like the looks of the new gen, so just don't wait any longer. I want the new tech (touchpad and newer software), but I'll do what she says. Who knows - Lexus may not build mine again.
If Lexus loses my order or doesn't have it scheduled to build by May/June, I'll probably just wait and see.
As you can tell, I'm still waffling back and forth.

You sure your dealer even put the order in.

Sounds like they didn't work very hard for your order.

Mors, I had a build date with estimated delivery less than a month after the special order was sent in. It's something the dealer was able to check online. Assuming yours was submitted in February, you should have a date by now. Keep on them.

At this point in time, I might be inclined to wait for the next Gen RX model in spring of 2015. By the time your special order is processed on a 2015, it will be summer and the new design will be introduced the following spring.
