Yes, Lexus LS has it, I wish RX also has it.

My 2G RL has it, it's a blue LED light that's tuck under the dash. It's not too bright and brings a nice touch to the interior at night.

Well in that case, it's possible that the footlight setting is turned off in your RX. Do you have an ELM327 and an Android phone/tablet? You can check what settings are available. I'd say it's MUCH better to use the stock lighting if it can be enabled, rather than adding your own wiring, LEDs, switches, etc.

Do any footwell lights come on at all when you open the doors?

I don't think the RX have these. I asked the dealer. My older IS had them and it was very useful.

There are footwell lights in the RX but they only come on when a door is opened. They're on the lower part of the doors and under the dash. You can update them to LED like some of us have done. It really makes a difference.

Yes, but the point is to have them on even when the door is closed. If you drive the RX at night, alone, in a tiny route without street lights, you will know how important these foot lights are. It can get very very dark inside the RX and sometimes you feel like something is crawling from the back seat or on your legs.

Why not consider stick n click led lights, you can put under anywhere without wiring needed..

Our 2008 Lexus ES350 has dim amber LEDs in both front footwells. The purpose is to provide a small amount of light in that area.

In my CT 200H, it had footwell lights and it was amazing! My RX 350 doesn't have it and it's creepy it's so dark at night! It's like watching tv in the dark while most times you would turn on a lamp light for ambiance. Very noticeable without it!!!
