Default Quick way to silence nav guidence?

I have not yet found a way to silence the naviation lady when she's barking out commands. If I take a phone call over the system, it's a battle of voices! I know there are commands to "pause navigation", but I don't really want to pause the screen instructions, just the voice instructions, and only for temporary moments of time (I like voice instruction, just not when I'm trying to have another conversation! I am afraid that while they took the time to program recognition of such useful commands as "show botonical gardens", they failed to include a simple "mute" voice command

Admittedly, I'm reviving an old post of mine in hopes of getting perhaps a new answer. Has anyone found a way of temporairly muting the navigation lady for those time you've programmed a destination, but want to have a conversation of phone call at same time?

Don't think there would be any way to mute. The assumption being: you asked the vehicle to give you directions, so that is going to take precedent over the phone call. Call serious enough, pause Navi to talk.

It is items such as this which are good examples for things to run past the Lexus Technology Specialist at your dealership. Give them a call or stop by with your questions. You can work through them using your vehicle and your devices.

Not sure on the version of nav you have, but on older ones under the menu option there is a 'suspend guidance' graphic button you can select. Then you can push 'resume guidance' after you are done.

Know it isn't ideal since navigation stops and the suggestions above about seeing the Tech specialist are good. I know we have a couple here on the forum so perhaps they'll chime in as well.
