corradoMR2, yeah i plan to keep the car at 5 years which should be around 90-100k miles. i looked at CPO'ed today as well and they weren't budging on price. they had a 2012 listed for $39k and said they sell a lot of them to people that export them.

Anyways, my wife wants a white one with saddle interior which is only available in the 2013 and 2014 models. I have found one that lists at $49k with the following:

Navigation
Premium Package with Blind Spot Monitor
Comfort Package
19-inch 7-spoke aluminum alloy wheels
Intuitive Parking Assist
Wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift ****
Towing Prep Package
Lexus 12-speaker Premium Sound System

The dealer is basically offering it to me for $43k. It seems that this is a good deal. Especially since there was a 2013 that was used (15k miles) that was listed at $43k that I believe was a CPO. Now I don't know what the vehicle ultimately sold for but as a point of reference there is a wholesale dealer here that has a black on saddle with all the options listed above for $39k. It is a 2013 with 30k miles.

My question is, is it worth it to buy the new one or should I wait to buy a CPO when one in the correct color combination comes available? Baby is due in July so I have some time but I would rather be prepared. I would consider a 2012 but I love the redesign and it is not that much more (I see the CPO'ed 2012s going for around $37k with around 30k miles).

Thanks,
Raky
Whatever you decide, be sure to get the color your wife wants. Color is VERY important to women.

johnnyvo1 and depechek, I will private message you his info later today, I have his card at home.

vip..me, it is not out the door price, I wish! The $43k just reflects a $6k savings off MSRP. I have a trade that will change the numbers, so out the door pricing is irrelevant for most people to see.

Great deal Raky! Buy new if you can. Like another member mentioned, get the color combo your wife wants, don't settle for any other as you will most likely regret it later.

I tried to buy a CPO back in 2012 from Sterling McCall and they would not budge on price at all. Spent like 3 hours trying to get them to deal and I failed. So I just went to Texas Direct Auto and got a really good deal on a RX with the more options then any on there lot and with fewer miles.

Raky, thank you and Congrats to you and family. Please don't forget to give me your name so I can let the saleman know to give you the referral check. Thanks again.
P.S. I have two young babies too, I think they should be all right in the RX. I currently own an GX 470, but I think it's too big for us.

I've been looking at Texas Direct and they have some nice ones come up from time to time. Yours looks like one of them. I have a coworker that bought a car from them that was not warranteed. They still stood by and made it right for him when his car needed $5k worth of work within a month of him buying it. They took the car back and got him in something else.

I like to offer 10% under sticker price then try to stick to it. Salesmen can be pretty persuasive once they know you want the car. Sticker price on our 2011CPO RX350 no nav was $38,395. We paid 35,500 + T&L. No extended warranty. Sacramento, CA area. Love the car and this forum.

I ended up paying $42,100 for an 2013 RX350 with MSRP of $46,775 (discount of $4,675). They offered a discount off MSRP of $4,000 and I countered with a discount of $4,675 (and said I was going to take that offer to the other dealers if they did not want it - which I was going to do). I picked this figure based on this site. Other people reported $4,000 discount not counting the financing deal being offered as part of December to Remember and I valued that financing deal at $700 ($2,000 discount if financing thru Lexus minus the $1,300 fees as part of the financing). Thanks to everyone for the help.
