I've had PCS go off only once in my RX that I know of -- with a crazy driver that ran a red light across my path. I don't remember anything being presented in my HUD or an audible warning, but things did happen quickly, so maybe it was. What was most noticeable was not the sound, but the physical tightening of the seat belt.

FWIW, had similar experience in my MBZ on the 3rd day of owning it with a driver that made a right without stopping while a line of us were going through the green light. My MBZ went off like nuts -- brakes being applied definitely even harder than I pushed them with that ABS feel at the same time, seat belt tensioning, and audible alarm (there is no HUD in my SLK). Between me (and the car), it stopped faster than I would have imagined, and the nut went around the corner and I didn't hit the person in front of me that was cut off by the crazy person. I took a deep breath, pushed on the accelerator, and by that time the seat belt had already loosened itself and the car went on it's way like nothing ever happened.

My hope is with these recent Lexus PCS changes, Lexus is now closer to that sort of complete proactive action my MBZ provided. GREAT STUFF!!! I'll take even what my 2013 RX provides with PCS, but the changes on the 2014 are awesome and are the beginning of my next RX (or NX) wish list.

Great info....
It's nice to know in advance, what will happen...
I knew the seat belts would tighten, but was under the impression they would just lock up, not providing the driver an immediate and obvious danger notification.. but from those who experienced it already, that is not the case....fortunately.
It's still unclear if the RX provides an audible, although the CX does in the video, that might be a year or two more advanced in this area. No mention anywhere so far of an RX audible.

BertL, glad you made it out both times unscathed. I remember the low speed slow down feature on an MB I was in 10 years ago. It somewhat compensated for the idiotic nav that kept on saying 'make a U turn at your earliest convenience' after missed turns. No reroute option back then. I welcome the additional features Lexus is introducing and know that'll add another layer of protection in my next RX, or NX
