Default Power hatch not working - one long beep

Has anyone had their Power hatch stop working? I get a long beep and nothing. Won't open or close, it has to be done manually. My next oil change is in 1-2 months so I was going to have it looked at then by Lexus under warranty. Wondering if anyone has had this problem and if there was an easy fix. Nothing seems stuck in the latch.

Thanks,

I wouldn't wait that long. If its not convenient to go to the dealer call your service advisor or email him/her. Often they have a quick fix.

Did you check the cutoff switch, located in the glove box? Maybe it got hit by mistake...

"One long beep" is what you get when it is disabled via this switch.

That was it. Thanks! I didn't even know it was there. My wife must of thrown her sunglasses in there since hers don't fit the sunglass holder and hit the switch.

Very smart of you. Didn't even thing of that possibility as I've never turned my switch off, even though I knew it was there.

Heh...thanks for the compliment! But I was very aware of this because my car was delivered with the switch off, so I had to debug it right away...

The button can be pushed by accident though it's only happened to me once in 10 years.

This and any new car has toooooo many automatic responses. Sequence. Turn off motor, open door, push button, loongggg. Screw up sequence, you loose. I hate this car.

This forum is the best. Now I have to be aware of a cutoff switch for my hatch in my glove compartment. How did I miss that when I read the 50,000 page manual that came with my new 2012 RX? LOL, thanks for the info.
