Question Windows Phone 8 Experiences

In a previous thread I asked for input on a specific phone. Having only received one response I thought I would broaden my question somewhat.

Has anyone had any experience with any Windows Phone 8 smartphone in their RX?

Our contract expires in about 10 days and I would like to move to AT&T. I am not sure if they will let me "try before I buy" or not. Thus I am hoping someone here has some experience that they could share.

THANKS

I don't have personal experience with a Windows 8 phone but the only thing you need to be sure of is that the bluetooth functions properly. That's the interface to the RX or any car. You could ask them at the store to go out to the vehicle and see if it hooks up ok. On another note, You could not pay me to use a windows phone! iphones and Androids are proven technologies and if you have a computer, you should know how long it takes Microsoft to get anything working properly. I think windows phones will be dead within a few years...

My concern is mostly for the transfer of the phonebook entries. Hopefully the AT&T people will work with me on this.

Bob, have you contacted the tech specialist at your dealer? They've probably paired up their fair share of cell phones for customers. So it's feasible they have experience with Windows Phone 8 smartphones.

Anita, I emailed the salesperson and he said that they all work on the 2013 but he could not answer for the 2010. I knew that was incorrect from other posts that I have found.

I found out that I can get one phone, then try it in my RX and my wife's Avalon. If it doesn't work I can return it for something else.

You could probably just ask the sales guy to let you try it out in yiur car before you buy it, thats what they let me do. Then another day bring your other car and test it there. Then its no worries.

Just a quick update. I got our Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8's today and the Bluetooth and transfer of contacts works perfectly
