LED DRL's
 

After many attempts at different bulbs for the Standard DRL's with the HID's, I finally found an LED bulb bright enough and white enough. These are 50W LED's and I did install an in line anti flicker control. I only installed the anti flicker on the drivers side and it corrected both bulbs, interesting. Nice and bright and the LED's seem to create a halo effect similar to the BMW's angel eyes. Not sure how much longer I will keep the lower lights as they keep going bad. What do you expect from China.

It takes about a month to get them but well worth the wait as far as I was concerned.

Thanks MEP7557 for the info regarding the hookup of the auxiliary LED DRL's. :woohoo:
I installed some LED DRL's today and hooked them up the same way you did so they are on any time the ignition is on independent of the stock DRL's/parking/headlights. I also installed a switch so I have the ability to turn them off if need be.

Can you send a closer shot of how you installed those lights. I have thought about doing those before but never braved it. I would like to see how and where you actually installed them. Thanks

Bottom edge of headlight
 

Here's some photos I just went out into the garage and took. As you can see, the LED strip is attached along the bottom edge of the headlight between the headlight and bumper. The LED's are barely noticeable when off. The strip is 24" long and has 30 LED's. I started on the inside and worked out. Only 29 of the 30 LED's show as the last one is tucked away behind the fender. It was a pretty easy install over all. Here's a bit more info - - - - - > Another CL post.

Wow! Those look great! How bright are they?

Not as bright as OEM LED DRL's.
 

The darker it is, the brighter they are. :D I suppose calling them DRL's is a bit of a stretch since they are not bright enough to been seen easily from a distance on a bright sunny day. On a overcast or rainy day and especially at dusk or dawn, they look nice and bright just like in the photos. I drove to St. Louis this weekend in the rain and noticed plenty of people checking them out in traffic. I'm happy with the results considering the cost, ease of installation, and inconspicuous nature of the LED's when they are not lit.

Stepping up the game once again, MEP. The lights are nice. They're definitely unique and I mean that in a good way. And I'm glad the install was easy. But I guess that's par for the course with you. Should I ask what's next?

StillLine, great job with your lights. They look very bright in the pictures. It's definitely a cheaper alternative than buying a '13 or doing a headlight swap. Maybe people were checking out your RX because they didn't know what vehicle you were driving, LOL! Nicely done!

Thanks StillLine for posting the pics. They do look good and you can hardly notice them. I think DRL's are designed mostly for rainy days anyway so, that works just fine. Are those the side illuminating ones?

After procrastinating forever and getting the time to actually mess with them, I FINALLY got my LED DRLs mounted and wired. I must say MEP was right about the "mounting" process being a pain in the ass, but they are all mounted and I couldn't be happier. They match the 6000k parkling light I have as well.

A little bright out so they don't stand out well, but I'll take some better pics.
