I hate the baking hotness of the inside of the car in the summer and I always loved this the key trick... if you hold down the unlock button after the beeps go off, the windows and sun roof will all start rolling down. I do this whenever I'm loading items into the back of the car but do not want to start it since all that hot air starts coming out from underneath and the sides of the car It works on my mom's 330, 350, and my new 350

Hello all! Tried this with my 450h and it did not work. Wondered if this was a programmable feature and found this: http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/RXh_with_nav_LPS.pdf

Looks like it is dealer programmable. This one would be a good one to have.

Yeah, it looks like for the 450 only the dealer can program it if it isn't already turned on.

Just FYI, the dealer is not the only option. You can do it by yourself and change many other settings with Carista. Here is a list of sample customizations available for RX (2010+): http://www.caristaapp.com/customizat...xus_rx350_2014

Do you have nav in your car? I don't quite remember where but there is a menu with vehicle customizations. Not sure how that would work for cars without the screen. Maybe dealer program?

On a non-navi RX, you can change the setting for auto-lock and unlock feature for the door lock by pressing and holding the folder button on the steering wheel for 3-5 seconds until you see the small info window in the instrument gauge cluster displays the Lexus personalized settings. From there, just scroll to the auto-lock w/ shifter and auto-unlock w/ shifter and change accordingly to your preferences.

Jim, what if we're vegan or don't drink? Consolation prize please.
I noticed that not only will the Nav Lady repeat the directions when you press the map button, but the address you are at (your location) displays on the screen while she is talking !

Default Lock-unlock with a passenger

Let the passenger carry the Key FOB. (S)He then unlocks from the passenger side door by doing a handle grab (this unlocks the door for the driver) and on leaving (s)he locks the the RX from the passenger door. Inside the cabin the key is close enough to start the vehicle.
