Tired of the dinging when you have your door open. Push and release the button on the door frame once and the dinging will stop.

Since this is an "odds n ends" type of thread.... a question....
Since the hatch is electric close, does constant manual closing damage the closing mechanism?

I've seen no indication there is a problem in model years 2010-12. I do it daily.

When waxing, I have the liftgate in various positions without apparent harm.

The only harm would be if you repeatedly 'stopped' the automatic open/close operation. Operating it manually is akin to opening and closing your door. Just working the gas struts and your shoulder bursitis .

I've been manually operating my hatch for two and a half years with no problems.

Is that something new on the '13s because it didn't work on mine...

Not that I am aware of, it's worked and works on my '10 and '12 RXh.

I hope this works cause I love to open the doors and blast the speakers! Of course you can't really hear the dinging, but why have something else draw the battery down.

I've been using this feature (auto lock all doors from back deck) such as yesterday when I popped something into the back at COSTCO but didn't get in the car. It was a really helpful hint. Does anyone know if it's mentioned in the 2010 manual anywhere? If so, which one and what page?

Now, I need to get some of my questions answered :-)

This does not work on my 2012 RX 350. It only stops as long as I hold the button in. If you can find it in the owners manual let us know. I would love that feature.

Ooops, guess I cheered too soon. That doesn't work on my '12. At least I discovered the back door locking dimple thanks to this thread!

I just looked at the 2012 manual. It's page 37. Under this section:
"1-2. Opening, closing and locking the doors
Smart access system with push-button start"

This worked on a 2010 RX350 and a 2010 IS250. Thanks!
