the older tail light has a extra white plug screwed to the tail light. while the new one didnt require it as i think its build inside. Old light 3 wires and new light 2 wires

You may change your mind when you see how they light up at night. The new one is cleaner, defined and more modern.

Do you have a picture? I'd like to see if I can tell the difference though it may be better to do it in person. I'm partial to clear since the RXh is tungsten pearl. Blends right in.

I agree, there was a 2013 in front of me tonight for about 7 miles and the tail lights looked much better imo. I would get them if i had the extra money, but i really want the front end.

Just letting you guys know that we didn't do the 2013 upgrade. All I was told was that the parts were too expensive.

They cost under $800 from Sewell Lexus parts department.

I believe he was talking about converting his front end not the rear lights.

It always amazes me how the next year model after my model always has the upgrades that I like better. I really like the new DRL's on the 2013(LED's) better than my 2012.
Oh wellmaybe in 2015 or so it will be even nicer, then I might trade up.

Yeah - freakin LCI updates. Always involves a couple simple things like modifications to the bumper or headlights and a few things to the interior, but really makes me want the update. The automakers certainly know what they're doing.

to my understanding the earlier year headlights had the afs feature, whereas the 2013s it was removed. so the vehicle may even throw out an error message had you attempted it

I think I'm really in the minority. I'm not a big fan of the new front end and am getting really tired of LED daytime running lights. Sure, they were neat on the Audi's when I first saw them years ago, but now you see various strips of LEDs on all makes and models from top to bottom (I'm looking at you Kia Soul). It's just boring and, to me, cheap looking these days with so many copy cats and low end cars doing it. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to swap out the new for the old simply for the LED look.

Now the tail lights, the new ones I like a lot more than the ones on our 2010. I like the newer 19" wheels on the 350 and F Sport too. I just can't get excited about the direction Lexus has taken with the front end across the board.

I love the new front end. It is not just the LEDs, it is the new bumper sale as well. It was a great facelift

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead since I'm doing the search/research and came across this thread. There are a few other threads on this located here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...on-ebay-2.html

and

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...placement.html
(which i've commented on)

I'm really diving into this and have already accumulated some very inexpensive parts (headlights, bumper cover, front lip). The other threads mention that it's not worth trying to do it yourself since they mention trading in their RXs up the newer ones. Well I have a 2011 that I got for a really good price so to me, it isn't worth it to just trade up to the newer ones. I absolutely love the RX F Sport front end so that's my goal look for my 2011.

Everything looks like it should pretty much bolt right up. The only problem i'm looking at now is seeing if the old bulbs/ballasts can be used on the new headlight housing. everything else is just some wiring. I know this isn't everyone but for those of you saying the 2010-2012 is better looking than the 2013-2014, here's a comparison of the two.

of course, to each their own. Back on topic... has anyone else done this?
