Default Sunroof drafty?

I rarely use my sunroof. Today I decided to pull the shades back to get some sun. As soon as I opened it up, I noticed a nice amount of cold air coming from that area. There is no actual "wind" being leaked into the cabin, but it sure feels cold up in that area with what feels like a little draft coming through the backside. Can anyone tell me if that is the case on yours too?

Thanks

Just tried mine on Sunday felt no cold air when i opened the cover, opened the window and had to stick my hand out to get any airflow into the car. You might just be filling the cold from outside as i do not think there is any insulation in the glass. go for a ride with someone else driving and try holding your hand by the back or side window and see if you get the same feeling.
cheers

I don't think airflow from outside is coming in, but I just feel like there is a slight draft coming from where the sunroof would sit underneath the roof when its open. It's hard to explain, just curious to see if it is normal.

cossie1600, What was the outdoor air temperature? With the shade pulled closed and cold outdoors, the shade would insulate the warm car from the cold glass and form a pocket of cold air even if the glass is insulated. Opening the shade, the cold air will drop into the car since it is more dense than the warm air in the car. Creating what would be perceived as a draft or convection. If the window were leaking air, you would hear it while driving in addition to feeling it.

That's my theory for what it's worth....

The cold air outside will definitely give the impression the sunroof is drafty. And what sun? I guess you didn't get any snow like I did today.
