Default Outside temperature gauge is off

The outside temp gauge on my RX-350 is off, usually showing cooler than actual. For example, if the car in the garage reads 85 when leaving home, and it sits parked at the supermarket for 30 minutes in 106 degree weather, it might read 93 when driving home.

Has anybody else see this?

I'll just address the issue during the next servicing.

That's interesting that you are seeing it show cooler than it actually is. It would make sense that it shows higher as the car sits in the sun.

To me, there is no place on a vehicle that can accurately decipher what the outdoor temperature is. I may glance at my guage, to get a laugh, but never take what it says to be accurate....in any car that we own.

Where does the factory install this Happy Meal toy?

The car is a 2010 and the gauge worked very well until about the last 3 months.

My 1999 RX-300's temp gauge was dead until I sold it in 2010.

Typically, with the car in the sun, the gauge was a bit off until the car had been moving for a few minutes. In the shade it was dead on.
