Default New 2012 RX450H for $50,700 - A good deal?

This is the best price I could wrangle from the dealer. The car is typically equipped. I'm in Northern California.

I was trying to squeeze another $1200 out them. Unrealistic?

Thanks,

Scott

I don't know the market in California, but I think you should be able to get the additional discount you are expecting. I suggest you call around to other Lexus dealers to check their 2012 RX450h stock. Also, come up with a minimum discount figure that you would accept for the 2012 and compare that to a comparably equipped 2013. Maybe other CL members might know if Lexus is offering dealer incentives on the 2012.

Im with Mike on his suggestion.
Similarly equipped 2013 RX 450h vs your 2012 450h. Compare the " negotiated" price

If i was doing the purchase today, i would ask my sales guy to give me a qoute for the 2013 as well.
Then factor in lexus loyalty discount, other incentives etc.
Then see for yourself. 4,000 difference between the two is reasonable. 5,000 -7,000 is a good deal. 8,000 and up is a steal.

The only problem is if they don't have any 2013 on the lot, but they can always get it from other dealers near your area.

It is a model year end sale, so it should be below the invoice price.

It is TOUGH to get below invoice on the h, though.

If you want another $1200 off, just press them hard, the worst thing they can say to you is "Thank you but No deal".

Good luck.

You should atleast got it with 2k discount with the 2012 model. I got several offered for 2012 model with premium, comfort and navi package less than your. However, I purchased the new 2013 with same option packages at great price (1.5k under invoice) through South Bay Lexus about 3 wks ago.

What is the MSRP or sticker price? Is is an AWD or FWD 450h? Options? You haven't given us enough information to precisely comment. On the surface, it seems like a reasonable deal. (Assuming AWD and typical CA 450h options).

The price on the window is MSRP.

Invoice is what the dealership "pays" for the car.
