Light paint scratches
Greetings All - I have several very light exterior paint scratches. Any recommendations for best 'scratch repair' kits out there? I've seen the ads on TV for kits with color matching, yet wasn't sure of quality and if any of them actually works. Any help is greatly appreciated!
i believe i saw a thread not too long ago.

I'm not a detailing expert by any stretch, but I recently made a great discovery. If the scratches are light enough to pass the "fingernail test", then try out Quixx Paint Scratch Remover. I was Amazed by the results. Beyond that check out the detailing thread like the others suggested.

It really depends on how deep the scratches are. If they're just in the clear coat, then it should be easy to do yourself. If you're feeling especially adventurous, you could purchase a dual action polisher and some polish. I'm not sure how hard the Lexus paint is, but I'd definitely test it out in an inconspicuous location first.
I had some light clear coat scratches on the fender of our 2009 Passat and used my Porter Cable 7424X along with Meguiars M205, which is branded as their "ultra finishing polish". Within about 30 seconds I had all of the scratches removed and it was looking good as new. I found that the paint on the Passat was pretty soft and it didn't take much effort to polish out the scratches (as compared with my wife's 2004 Jetta - but that might have something to do with age and curing. I've not used it on the Lexus yet).
Anyhow, when we bought the Passat in 2009, and especially since buying the Lexus last year, I've been all-in on detailing supplies so these are things I've invested in. However, if you don't have a polisher or the desire to get into it, I'd definitely recommend calling your local detail shop and see what they'd recommend - probably the same thing.
