2013 +$4,000 over a 2012 is it worth it?

East cost are tough.
But in California there are many deals.
Some dealerships are hurting and if they do not move some cars off their lot they will lose some allocations.
I guess it is better to buy a car in California and have it ship to you. You will save about $2000 to $3000.
There are many deals to be made and all the salesman are all BS telling you they cannot sell the car at anything but MSRP. Just be patience and you let them know how much you are willing to pay.
I am in the market for a 2013 RX 350 F-Sport maybe $1000 above invoice for this car.
Below is the email I received from a Lexus of Valencia.
Take delivery any 2013 LEXUS RX350 we have in stock before May 31st, 2012 for:
$1000 UNDER INVOICE!!!
We have the following color combinations of 2013 RX350s physically on the lot and available today, first come first served:

I never received no such email over here on the east coast.
I never even heard of anyone getting 1k off of invoice on a rx 350 2013 anywhere.
I'm struggling to find more than 1k off of MSRP on the East Coast.

No, I don't play soccer!
I was told by my sales guy that discounting on the '13 won't happen until the '12s are gone. And it's happening quickly. He said they had around 60 and a week later were down to fewer than 10. Be patient, that's all I can say. It won't be long.

Have others witnessed the '12's 'flying off the shelves' ?

The dealers I deal with on the east coast siad their 2012 inventories are nearly gone.
Not surprise.
0.9 financing, and 5k off, and 0 down leases will put a dent in most dealers inventories especially a suv as popular as the lexus rx

Am I the only one left who likes the AFS?
I wonder if the 2014 will get the AFS back, or is it out of demand, as it seems that many here could care less about it.
I like the power folding mirrors, and new DTR lights, but I like the AFS more (especially all the dark, wooded areas and dark winding interstates around where I live)
Maybe I'm just a fan of what many feel is now worthless technology, I guess thats why Lexus got rid of it.

I am still surprised at Lexus' decision to eliminate it all together as it appears they have done on the 2013 refresh, especially with it having been one of the few optional technology/safety items specifically highlighted in brochures, ads, etc for many years. I'd be very interested one day to understand the truth about why it was eliminated -- without facts, I'd speculate it was a way for Lexus Marketing to help keep costs down allowing them to hit some targeted price point given the larger option bundling changes they made on the 2013 (eliminating AFS clearly cut several hundred dollars from MSRP on both HID and LED standalone headlight options from 2012 to 2013).
Anyway, for me, a single option like AFS is not a deal breaker with my decision for a total new vehicle. I'm excited to have my 2013 with LED and only ALS very soon.

Or you could fly out one way, pick it up and drive it home for the cost of a one-way airline ticket, gas and your time.

Just for yucks, I went to Cars.com to look at inventory (I realize it's not completely accurate and up to date). There are roughly equal numbers of '12's and '13's at most distances from my location, e.g. about 600 of each within 250mi of MA. I thought there would be many more '12's than '13's.

Yes and no. I have had AFS since 2003, first in the 330 and now on the 450h. It definitely improved over time. The headlight swivels more smoothly than before. BTW, I haven't experienced any problems in either RX with AFS. It's a cool feature to have but not the most important. I can survive without it, as long as they don't get rid of the sexy LED headlights
