Default RIP Lexus LX470...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought this new off the showroom floor for $62,000. which was the sticker price in February, 2000. My wife is in her 60's now and she said it was getting to be too much vehicle for her. So we traded it in for $13,000. with 82,000 miles on it toward a new 2012 RX 350 last week. Definitely a different driving experience, with pluses and minuses for each. Man, it was a good "car." And I hate to see it go, but time moves on. Here's hoping the new vehicle comes close to matching the quality and satisfaction of the previous vehicle, although I think the Lexus pursuit of excellence branding is not quite up to the original standard.

Paul, congrats on your new RX. I've been driving one since '98 so I can imagine how you feel making the change. It's all good though. Give it a little time.

That is a big change, but I'm sure the RX will better suit your needs now.

We all miss our rides we've enjoyed for a long time -- at least for a little while, but I'm confident you'll both really love your new RX. Some things will seem familiar, others enhanced, and a whole lot of new things to enjoy from what was all the rage back in 2000 with your LX. CONGRATS!

I, too, went from a 2003 gx470 to a 2012 rx at xmas time. I gave Dil the gx for xmas....it was and is a great car. But the rx is perfect. It is still big enough to transport all kinds of stuff but much easier to drive around town. I still get to see the gx but am in love with the rx....and so is mama.
