Default RX 350 Not in the TOP 10 Cars/SUVs Women Love to Buy

http://autos.yahoo.com/news/10-most-...en.html?page=1

It seems that the more masculine design of the 3rd Generation RX made more MEN to buy it or made more Women to look elsewhere.

I for one don't associate my masculinity with the car i drive.. having a Range Rover HSE, a RX 350 and a Prius ( Daily commuter).
but others do..

That's why they are women - if they judged based on value, it would definitely be in the top 10.

The RX is just too expensive to be included in a survey like the one in your link. In my town, virtually all RX drivers are still women. The bigger trend is that people seem to be shifting away from large vehicles with lower mileage. Also, the younger generation views cars differently. They are commodities to be used and there seems to be a lot less interest in luxury cars.

@ UCSB that's the point of this thread.. WE can claim that RX 350 driver's are virtually all women and that Hummers are virtually all men, but without the numbers to back it up, at least for 2011-2012 then it's meaningless.
and making an assumption based on where you live is a poor indicator as well.
Heck, i can say "what recession?" if i simply look within 5 miles of where i reside.

i think, how the study was conducted... is like this.
PT cruiser sold only 10 units for this year.. and 2 out of the 10 where women.. ergo 20% of PT cruiser buyers are women..
my point is that all brands regardless of popularity where included in the study.
It's just that RX 350 didn't make the cut...
OR every RX 350 you see out there driven by women were BOUGHT and PAID for by their husbands and sugar daddys. LOL!

the VW Eos starts at 34,350 and it's in the top 10.

I agree, everywhere I look people are busting out with new luxury cars. It doesn't seem like we are in a recession. I guess it depends on where you live. Even the car dealer said the same thing. He was like lexus is a recession proof brand. He's probably right, out of the 10 RX350's I looked at on wednesday 8 were sold by the time I got back to him on Saturday.

I don't want to see my RX on the same list that has Nissan JUKE...

Yeah, about the same around here as well. The study is "buy" not who is behind the wheel. Just to calrify I am not saying women do not sign on the dotted line but for the most part at my local dealer the hubby, if not the only signer, is first on the signature line.

@ MC5Wes ,ejm3 and MX5NES350 i agree with that!

looking at the big picture though, i believe it's SUVs in general are driven by women ( aka Soccer moms).
4 out of 5 drivers of a White Range Rover, that i see are women..
same thing with the GX, white Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition..

Oddly enough, i see a lot of "dads" driving a mini van..
Honda Oddysey, Toyota Sienna, Nissan Quest etc.

how time has changed..

Yes I think there may well be a difference between who "buys" the car vs who actually drives it.
At any rate I stand by my 75/25 statement based on person I see driving the car.

It's good that the 3rd gen RX is not associated with one gender anymore.
