i don't know if it has already been addressed by BMW especially for the X5..i'm talking about the battery charging issue. If you leave your X5 for 2 weeks, you will get back to a fully drained SUV.
the service advisor's recommendation before was to run it "highway" to keep the battery charged.

The BMW's styling is starting to look pretty dated to me. It gets below average reliability ratings and that is a deal breaker for me.

most people buy Bimmers for the name and the status symbol that comes with the price tag.
a handful enthusiast will buy it for the driving experience.
But most people won't know the difference, especially when you're stuck at 405.

as for the design, i agree with the dated comment.
with the new design, it's hard to distinguish the 3 series from the 5 series.
and from a far, BMW tail lights are too close to call with that of VW.

Default Status Symbol

A status symbol can be viewed a couple of different ways.
BWW status symbol; Teutonic, beer, old money
Lexus status symbol; Latest luxury engineering, quality with dependability, Smart Money

I have a 2010 RX 350. Of the 5 Lexus cars I have owned this one is not a good one. Maybe due to the poor North American build quality and just the over soft ride. Feature that don't work, dealer who can not fix them. Rattles and more. I would love to dump it with only 12K miles, just not to a friend.
