Since Lexus has now confirmed that the 2013 models are being delivered in early May, how much below invoice has anyone recently been able to negotiate on a 2012 RX 350 or RX 450h? Best price I was able to get in the LA area for a 2012 AWD model was $1000 below invoice on a 350 and at invoice for a 450 hybrid. Does this sound reasonable? I was hoping to get the 450h below invoice since the 2013s are almost here and we are near the end of the month, however dealers have mentioned that there is a lower supply of hybrid vehicles.

I believe that this pricing stuff is like chasing ghosts,,,the reson I say this is because in different part of the country the pricing is different than others,,,,in the Norteast, I just bout a 2012 no nav adn "basic" extras for 3k below sticker, but then they got me also 3k more for my 2011 MDX.....
My advise is try get as low as you can based on your knowledgw, which appears to be right on the money, and be happy and enjoy your RX.......happy hunting....<S>

^ svofan1, my point exactly.
that's why i don't do trade in with the dealer.
It's still better to sell your car as a 3rd party and buy or lease the RX separately.

Maybe, but here in NJ (I don't know in other states) the new vehicle tax is based on the value after the trade in otherwise you pay full tilt...by that I mean that I pay 7% tax on the difference between the trade in and the new price and in my case it amounted to$2100 less...besides I don't have to deal with the BS of buyers kicking tires and exposing my self to the rest of the World, not in the society that we live in today....everything has a price and for mybe $1k more,I am willing to pay this price for my privacy...no criticism on my part but to each its own

If people are looking for a good price on a 2012, I would carefully configure and compare a 2013 as part of the process. I configured a 2013 and it appeared that the price was less (possibly something like $800 or so) than the same 2012. I don't know if this is true or not because I follow the prices in a casual manner and I am NOT shopping for a car right now. I noticed the NAV system on the new 2013 GS was way cheaper than on prior models. I don't know about the NAV on the 2013 RX, but the ML sound system may be another item that may have come down. I expected the 2013's to be more expensive than the 2012's ... so I may be missing something in my 2012 and 2013 comparison.

how did you configure/build a 2013 RX. I went to the Lexus website but it only allowed me to configure/build a 2012

I did find some prices, which is propably what you did.

The backup camera now has it own package for 860. I don't see it listed as a included under the nav package.

The nav price went up, but the comfort package dropped a lot
Year----------------2013------------2012

AWD--------------40710----------40475

Nav-----------------2775------------2465
CP-------------------1340------------1950
TPP-------------------245--------------230
19 wheels-----------770--------------660

With that said, its the invoice that matters

i feel more comfortable negotiating with a car that's already on the lot.
maybe it's just me, but 3 months waiting for "the customized" one doesn't really work for me.

and don't forget the internet department of your dealer..
usually , that's where i start shopping, then i meet the associate after.

MOST states charge tax on the whole new vehicle, which frankly is the fair way! I am going to get a buy price from CARMAX though as I am trading a 2006 Cad SRX and my Mercedes dealer tried to steal it for 9K, when it was worth about 13K; the new KBB prices hit May first; so another week EVErRYTHING goes down a little, just in time for the '13 Lexus"s to hit!!

The backup camera is included in the NAV package now. I am using KBB.com for my info and prices. KBB shows invoice price, if you are interested. After spending a little more time trying to configure a car, I have decided that there aren't any savings over the 2012. Prices on the FWD 450h (the car I was configuring) don't seem to be very different than 2012. One interesting thing, KBB is showing an appearance package that includes the F-Sport bumper on the 450h for those that like the look (1st item on list below, plus includes upgraded 19" sport wheels).

Some package/option prices (one number is invoice, other is list):
Appearance Pkg, Sport [AP] $1,012.00 $1,100.00
Comfort Pkg [CP] $759.00 $825.00
Display Audio Pkg [DA] Incl. Incl.
Premium Pkg [PM] $1,950.00 $2,070.00
Steering Wheel, Leather-Wrapped & Wood [WU] $303.00 $330.00
Entertainment System [EY] $4,533.00 $4,920.00
Navigation System, Hard Drive-Based Voice Activated [NV] $2,563.00 $2,775.00
Radio, Mark Levinson AM/FM Stereo w/6-Disc CD/DVD Changer in Dash [ML] $916.00 $995.00
Park Assist, Intuitive [PA] $460.00 $500.00
Seats, Heated & Ventilated Front [HS] Incl. Incl.
Headlamps, Bi-HID Adaptive [HL] $473.00 $515.00
Wheels, Triple Split 5-Spoke Alloy [FT] $709.00 $770.00
P235/55R19 Incl. Incl.

NOTE: Some items above are not showing individual prices and are listed as INCL because I selected a package that contains the item and was not purchasing that item independently.

be carefull..... most luxury dealers, are NOT to eager to have used cars in their lots that are not their brand,ie: Lexus (at least that has been my experience here in NJ) so when they get a luxury car for trade they first call the "outside used car buyers" for a price and then they decide how much to give you, of course they will offer the lowest price since they do not know exactly if someone will come in the Lexus dealer wanting to buy an Acura, and that makes sense.
If they want to keep the car comes later in the negotiations, which is a game between them and us.
Always remember that no matter what, they are full time sellers and we are part time buyers, no matter how you slice it and after all if you don't buy someone will.
It is very good that we as byuers get the best possible info so if and when a good or decent deal is presented we don't walk away for lack of knowledge.....just my 2 proverbial cents...you appear to be well informed...good luck to you

I believe your Comfort price is wrong.

I got my prices off of the Lexus website.

I don't know, but why are you guessing on options etc on the 2013....why not just wait until all the facts are well known and well defined and then go ahead...I think that you are are shot changing yourself....unless you are in a tight situation that you must have a 2013....I read in other threads that they are issues as to what is include with what like LED lights etc....
I don't believe that anyone at this early point have any precise information as to what is what and how much....

I think there are differences between the 350 and 450h on some of the options. The numbers I posted above were from KBB.com for a 450h FWD. But, I just noticed that Lexus now has pricing for the 2013 on their site and the comfort package matches what I posted above (the 350 is different). Here is a link (remember to go to 350 page if you are shopping for one of those because some prices may be different).
