Thanks in advance for the help and insights here. My wife's lease was up on her 2008 Mazda CX-9 and we ended up choosing the RX. First time Lexus owners here - we had driven Mazdas ever since finishing grad school but I recently moved into a 2011 G37S and my wife was looking for something smaller than the CX-9 and with a more compliant ride.
I'd held off on posting this as I had yet to actually take some pictures of the vehicle and I know full well from other auto forums that it's a "pics or it didn't hapen" kind of world, so please see below.

A couple of you have asked me about the appearance package (namely the wheels and the blackout surrounds for the headlights) so I grabbed my nice camera and shot some pictures - hopefully this answers a few questions about the overall look. I imagine that it's likely a "love it or hate it" kind of scenario, but my wife really liked the sport finish wheels (which have more of a dark satin nickel finish compared to the regular 19" wheels) and the whole package was only a $100 premium over the 19" wheels a-la-carte.
Comments welcome!

No, I don't play soccer!
Congrats Alex. I'll have to check the headlights from the appearance package up close when I'm at the dealer for service this week. They look pretty cool. Now I'm already familiar with the superchrome rims since I have them on my 450h. They go nicely with Tungsten Pearl
Enjoy!

The appearance package are almost like the RAV's sport package, tinted lights, black out headlight housing and liquid graphite wheels. It looks sharp, a good deal at a $100 if you were going with the 19" rims anyways.

agreed - black on black (on black...appearance package) would look very, very good IMO. The wheels would finish it off nicely.
Appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to contributing to the forums.

So the appearance package is not available with HID light? HID kits might be a cheap aftermarket item, but the adaptive headlights is a factory installed item only.

The only constant is change and in their effort to be constant in many things, Lexus has changed the option packages again. I was just on their website and (at least for my region, may be different other regions) Lexus has removed the HID's and ALS from the option package's and made them separate options.
Bi-Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) [37] $875 [41] $875 [41]
LED headlamps with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) [37], intelligent high-beams [38] and headlamp washers $1,875 [41] $1,875 [41]

If you're in other than the SE region you should check using your zip code.
I have the HID's and love them so much they'll be in my next car. But this car has so much high tech stuff designed for compatibility with many factory options I'd be cautious about installing anything aftermarket that draws high current unless done through your Lexus dealer. This is one warranty you don't want to mess with.
