Default Shelf in the Glove Box

Is there a trick to removing the shelf in the glove box? Owners manual just said lift up and out but mine won't budge. I didn't want to apply too much force to avoid breaking anything.

Thanks.

You may have to supply some force to it and wiggle it at the same time. It will come out but it's not a simple lift out.

Don't know if its the same but I suddenly noticed that the shelf in my IS glove compartment just sits on top of the manual. I couldn't figure out how to put it back in!

The shelf needs to be moved forward or backwards and pulled up. I can't remember exactly because I keep it loose. The first time is always the hardest. The cover to the cabin filter also needs to be pulled up. Then grab one of the sides to remove.

Like kitlz said, the first time is always the hardest. If I remember correctly, you lift up from the left side of the shelf and then when that unclips itself, pull it towards the left. When I first did it I thought I broke it because of the surprising amount of force required to remove it.
