Default Baby Seat and dont want to damage Leather..

We have a baby boy due in December: Was wondering how to protect the leather seats from the Baby seat ?

Any ideas or solutions please ?

Default Protection From Car Seat

I use one of these with a Sunshine Kids Radian car seat (currently in the rear-facing position.)

I tried a Prince Lionheart initially, but it was too wide, and too stiff for my liking.

The prince lionheart is good so far. Our friend has a 3 y/o kid and occasionally rides with us and it's been pretty good in protecting the seat.

I prefer the thickness of the Prince Lionheart cover and that its 2 pieces so its easily adjustable. I don't really have a problem using it with the latch system but I have the car seat placed behind the passenger seat forward facing. This has been discussed in the this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...-car-seat.html. Don't forget the kick mats for the toddlers! lol.

Default Why Not the Prince Lionheart, For Me

My post in that thread explains why the Prince Lionheart didn't work for me. I have the car seat installed in the centre of the rear seat, and the Prince Lionheart was so wide that it covered up the seat belt buckles for both of the outboard rear seat positions.

Then use the prince lionheart when placing the childseat on either side, use something else when placing the childseat in the middle.

Yep. I guess that's the solution I adopted.

Default Sunshine Kids UltraMat - For Radian Car Seat?

Do you have a Sunshine Kids Radian car seat, too? (I do.)

Radian car seats are narrower than just about any other car seat, and don't need as wide a "seat protector".

No, my daughter is in a booster seat now, I don't recall the brand. But the mat is wider than the booster seat, yet doesn't interfere with the seat belt buckles. Before that we had a Britax seat that used Latch, not sure how this mat would have fit with that, since we never paired the two together.

I have a Chicco Key Fit 30 and just purchased the Prince Lionheart. I'll let you know how it works. I plan on putting the seat on either side, not in the middle, because I prefer the latch system over belts.

Hi there,
Sorry to be reviving an old thread here, but I wonder if using two Lionheart protectors on rather side of the back seat would make the Center seat too tight? I read here that they're quite wide. We often have one of us sitting in the back with the kids on longer trips.

Thanks

I don't have any experience with two of the Prince Lionheart seat protectors, but at a guess, I wouldn't be optimistic about being very comfortable sitting the middle of your proposed configuration.

If you have two (2) car seats on both sides so YES the center seat will be tight. Prince Lionheart seat protector is wide but you can always slide it to either the left or the right side (carseat does not need to be in the CENTER of the mat). It is a good protector and it only costs about $20 on Amazon.

Thanks for the feedback. Still torn between the hard Lionheart and a softer plain cover!
