nope i know that trick aswell, this is trip from bellingham going back to vancouver all flat roads. My old is350 was ranging around the same area aswell but required 91. Maybe u dont own an f sport that comes in 8spd? Rpm shifts under 2k rpm and cruises around 1400rpm at 100km? Unless something up with my car

At 199k miles on my 2010, I'm averaging 19.7 mpg for the life of the vehicle. I had an 800 mile drive to pick up my daughter at college for break. on 60-65 speed limit roads, driving 65-70mph, I was right at 24mpg. When I hit a 70mph speed limit stretch, and set cruise at 75, it started falling rapidly. I filled up and started again at 75 and it averaged about 21.5mpg.

When there's a stretch of mostly city driving, it's in the 17's.

All on regular 87 octane.

With almost 109k on the clock, I get about 14.5 in short two miler jaunts. On the highway @ 70mph I get from 25 to 26.7, on plane Jane 89 octane ethanol free gas, also known by its BS monikers of “Marine Fuel!” or “Recreational Fuel!”.

This pic was taken shortly after getting off the highway and driving local roads.

When I bought my 2011 RX350 AWD four years ago, it had 24K miles and its all time average MPG was 16.4. Fast forward to date, the odometer is 54K miles and the all time average MPG has steadily increased to 20.6. I normally get "After Refueling" MPG in the 19 to 22 range depending on driving condition. My best highway long distance trip MPG was 24.6. I almost always use Costco 87 Octane gas.

That seems normal. City mileage can vary quite a bit depending on how much you stop and go, or sit idle, or how heavy you are on brakes and gas. Octane should not have noticeable impact on mileage. I have found 14-18 mpg city, and 21-25 highway, to be normal.

Just purchased a 2015 RX 350 FWD with 35K miles on her. Drove home 850+ miles and averaged 27.2 MPG all highway. A little surprised by that number...but I'll take it.

Default Gas Mileage vs. Fuel Brand

I own a 2015 RX350 AWD. As the owner's manual states, I always use an 87 octane, Top Tier rated gasoline in my vehicle. Recently, I've noticed a difference in MPG between two brands of gasoline: Valero and Phillips 66. I have been averaging 21.5 with three fill-ups of Valero vs. 22.4 with three fill-ups of Phillips 66. Now I realize that there are many variables that can affect fuel mileage. I refill my tank every 10 or 11 days while alternating between the two brands. All of my trips are suburban driving with the same or similar routes and I am the only driver. I am wondering what causes the difference? Is it ethanol content? Both brands state that they can contain up to 10% ethanol. In my area, the price of regular for both brands is about the same, but I seem to get over 4% better mileage with Phillips 66. I am using the average "After Refueling" display for MPG calculations.

We live in SoCal and found Phillips 66 vs most other brands consistently get a little bit better mpg too.

I originally posted this in the normal thread, but it is more appropriate here. I own a 2015 RX350 AWD. As the owner's manual states, I always use an 87 octane, Top Tier rated gasoline in my vehicle. I've had the same experience in my area. The Philips 66 gas gets a little better MPG.
It's noticeable, but not enough to care.

In Regina/Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.... city mpg is 25 mpg

In highway driving @100 kmph (60 mph) over 270 kms ..... highway mpg will be between 26-30 mpg depending on conditions.

My driving regiment is very consistent, and I'd like to share some insights. This summer, I have been driving on the highway every week. With no wind, and ambient air temperature being 80 Fahrenheit at sunset, mpg meter reads 29-30 mpg or so. At twilight, same wind conditions, but a little cooler, mpg goes down to 26-28 mpg. It's amazing how much of a difference ambient air temperature makes.

I'm Canadian, and my trip computer reads l/100 kms, I've converted, and those numbers are from the trip comp. not me number crunching at the pump.
