Headlight questions

Hey guys,

I was wondering if there is a way to make the hids brighter? like a more powerful hid kit. i believe the stock hids are 35w. I was planning to get 55w but i wanted to know if i needed a relay harness and LBF module? or is there another way?
let me know

this is for a rx450h

thanks

HIDs are measured by Kelvin temperature. It is a common mistake that the higher the Kelvin the brighter it is. The color temperature only determines the color but not how bright the HID output.

Ex:
Color Temp (K) Description
3000k yellowish (great for fog lights)
4300k white light with hint of yellow
5000k pure white light
6000k white light with hint of blue
8000k bluish color
10000k blue <---visibility sucks
12000k blue/purple <---visibility sucks

I have 6000k installed in my IS and RX.

4300k is stock and the brightest HID ... as you go higher, the visible light gets lower and lower, and the color goes from white--->blue--->purple

what i mean is go to a higher lumens with more watts. like use a 55w ballast instead of the stock ballasts. i would keep the same color temperature as stock.

You can go with a 55W after market HID and connect it with a realy harness to the battery, of course that would void your warranty when it comes to lighting. Also, aftermarket 55W HID systems are illegal in the US, you will run the risk of getting a ticket.
Personally, if I want brighter lights, I would go with a 35W HID in the fog lights.

That sounds good. What's the best way to do that?

Anyone know any 6000k bulb manufacturers for the RX350?

I would buy a philip based HID conversion kid from the internet and if you not are too handy with electronic stuff, I would have a sound and audio shop install it for you.
