What is the biggest Size of USB Drive????
I know that a 4 GB USB stick just works fine. I tried an 80 GB laptop USB drive (Fat32) and it didn't work (power light came up normal and drive could be felt spinning). I am wondering what kind and size of USB drives have been used successfully by the members? also, if there is any problems with over certain numbers of songs in a folder or too many number of folders etc?

Maybe RX cannot provide the enough power to your 80GB.
I tried 4GB, too, working fine, and guess it will support other USB-flash-memory-form devices.
Could you test if your 80GB is wokring when plugging the ac power to it and connecting USB to your RX?

Lol, how one thing Leeds to another and the real question gets lost.
I have collection of over 5700 songs, which needs over 42 gigs. i have a 4gb usb, 8gb ipod, 32gb itouch and 4GB bb storm. now i don't need all the 5700 songs in once(i suspected this question coming up too). the problem with ipods is that every time you search the play list, it cuts the current playing song and starts playing the top play list or song, which is annoying. it doesn't happen with usb. now 4gb usb that i have is too small for what i would like to take with me in the car. so before i go and spend money on another USB, i had this 2.5 inch hard drive sitting which i decided to test it first, just in case it works. also if i had purchased 32 gb usb and if the system doesn't recognize it? just in case some body else has experienced the larger usb's?
now in case some body comes up with another question that why i don't use my 6 cds changer. the answer is that i don't like to burn the cds (save the environment?).
i hope that above clarifies that why i used 80gb hard drive and now lets get on to the real question of this thread please?

I am using Corsair Flash Voyager 4GB drive. Very fast. No hesitation. I am pretty sure 16GB drive will work just as fast, as long it contains the same UBS 2.0 driver version. Larger flash drives are still kinda expensive.

Will try 32GB once receiving it next 3 month.
As for my 80GB/160GB/200GB/500GB/1TB USB HDs, once getting time to set up the extended power cord to provide the constant and steady power, I'll try...

Running an 8GB USB2.0 stick with no issues. I think the USB integration is much better than the iPod. Much faster interface. I only wish you could search by Artist.

may slightly be out of topic, but has anyone been able to play iTunes-bought (AC3 encrypted) music files, whether it's from an iPhone/iPod or USB thumb drive?
I'd like to know before I even get my RX. thanks!

i-tunes files ac3
AC3 files will not play through the usb option. The AC3 files, although on the memory stick, don't even show up as folders on the screen in the RX. In i-tunes you can right click the music files and convert to MP3. As for AC3 and your iPod, all AC3 files will work with your iPod when connected to you RX.

I have used my 2.5" laptop SATA drive. Put it in external enclosure with dual USB one for power and the other for usb connection next to AUX. Works fine, though it take a while to load folders. I do however have another problem. every time i connect my Ipod Mini with 32 gig storage card RX 350 doesn't recognize it and my ipod min says "do not disconnect". Any suggestions? Iphone 16gigs works fine.
