Sport suspension?
Has anybody tried a new RX350 with the Sport Suspension option? If yes, does it actually feel any sportier than the non-sport version or is it more of a marketing gimmick?
When I bought my "09 RX I ask to get the package & was told there was not any available in the US. Anyone else have this experience? Was told it was strictly something to catch your attention but never meant for production.
Our RX has a great ride compared to our "04 RX anyways.

Not sure about sport suspension, but my '09 GX had a **** with Sport on the left and if you crank it to the right, it was marked "Comfort".
The "Comfort" setting minimized the bumps one encountered and had a more cushioned feel. The sport setting however, had a more "bumpy" feeling but in a good way, much like an Acura. Also felt like it had more control.
Is that a 2010 RX you are referring too? The new one is leaps and bounds better than our current '05 as far as handling and suspension is concerned. The steering is tighter and you feel much more connected to the road. It doesn't handle like a German, but it has certainly closed the gap.

i was referring to the '09 and prior models, not the '10, which i haven't even seen yet. i never said i was looking for a 'high-performance SUV with good handling,' all i said was that i'm glad the sport suspension will be an option given that the RX's i've driven (including my mother's first generation) were too soft for my tastes. my current ML350 has the adjustable air suspension, including a sport setting, which i find very useful, it allows me to choose the setting that best suits the road condition. my understanding is that '10 RX, even without the sport suspension, has less body roll than the current car, and with sport suspension should only improve on this.
I'm interested in test driving a sport package Rx. Edmunds said the sport suspension did not improve the handling much. Of course, anything would be an improvement over the ride of my '99 Rx 300; it rocks like a boat on turns. I still love it though and that's why I've held on to it for 10 years.
"You can get a sport suspension with revised dampers, bushings and EPS, along with 19-inch wheels and P235/55R19 101V tires, but the benefits are slight."

We ended up taking a MB ML Bluetec out and were very impressed.
We're now at the point that the wife would want a 450h over the 350...unless the "Sport" package is that impressive. (No "Sport" available on the hybrid
They've said they'll call me when they have a new "Sport" to drive.
We've run some initial numbers but haven't really talked discounts other than the loyalty ones.
Sorry I don't have more info yet.
