Default 2010 Rx 350 interminent battery light

my RX is having an intermintent battery light flashing. I think it may belt slippage due to the rain tonight but just want to make sure there aren't other issues that can cause this.

I checked the cables and they clean and tight ,the headlights dim and then brighten and sometimes the battery light flashes when it happens, other times it doesn't.,,when I got home I sat in the yard and idled it a bit and had no battery light come one and the headlights were bright and it restarted with no hesitation so battery power is ok.

I hope I'm worrying over nothing

Practically all auto box stores offer free charging checkup in the hope of selling you a new battery/alternator. They can perform a load check of the battery.

Since you have verified that the clamps are clean and secure, and belt tension is under tensioner ... you can have a bad/old-belt or bad alternator.

Have the system checked up.

I can do all the testing at work so will see where that goes tomorrow and I was just kind of frustrated last night because it was pouring rain and couldn't really look at anything ,I guess I probably should have just asked if there are any weird quirks that happen like that with these models ,,I had an old Toyota truck from the 80's and everytime the brakelight fuse blew the check battery light came on ,,thanks for answering

P.S. ,,I also watched a video on how remove the alternator ,,man ,,nothing is simple and straightforward anymore but atleast I know I can do it

The tester at the store has a function ... 'load test" make sure you can do that. Keep in mind simple voltage test is an indicator but not definitive.

I work at a GM dealership and we have a big machine that tests everything ,,battery load and everything tested good but the lights off for now,,and its charging perfectly...probably a sticky brush so when the lights on I assume it isn't charging but it won't turn back on until I give the vehicle back to my wife
with nearing 270k miles I'll probably buy an alternator and shelf it until it croaks,,its a lot of work to change that critter
