Hey all, my parents just bought a 14 Rx350 (Japanese vin) some issues we overlooked when test driving it was the driver side and front passenger lock doesn’t look or unlock with the remote or the door controls. Only via manual key. Checked fuses and looked fine. My research points to replacing the door lock actuators but before I do wondering if anyone else recommends something else before getting it.
It also didn’t come with a second key so I bought a vis and techstream software which took a while to work but finally managed to code the second key. Would TS pull codes for the actuator? Cause I didn’t find and also pretty new with this. The parts on rock auto show Japanese vin and NA vin but didn’t see the correct one. If I order the NA would it not work?
lastly when unlocking the door the “beep beep” noise doesn’t work I see the mirrors fold in and out when locking and unlocking the system setting is set to the loud for feedback volume on lock.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

By using the physical key, is the passengers front door locking and unlocking?
If yes, change your fob key, as the passengers door is only electric. The drivers door is electric and physical.
If that doesn't correct it, likely you need new actuators. I can't comment on the Japan vs NA models.

thank you clutchless! Replaced the driver and passenger actuators and now they are working. I still can’t get the beep noise to work though. The setting for feedback volume is at max. Any suggestions ?

 

Go deeper into the Nav screen menus and maybe there are more settings, including for that beep.
