Tailgate goes up/down using fob and tailgate goes up/down using the button inside the car. Tailgate goes down when pushing the button on the tailgate. Tailgate WILL NOT go up pushing the button on the tailgate.
Possible remedy is to "initialize" (re-program) it. Can't find out anywhere that tells how to do this on a 3rd Generation Lexus.

Had this happen on my 2012 RX350. Dealer had to reprogram it, and it took him an extra day. Ultimately, he found a YouTube video that advises this can happen when the battery is replaced. The solution (I was told) was to disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes, then reconnect. The "resolution" worked, but I haven't tried it again to see if the same steps would resolve the same issue in the future.
