Hello, I just returned from driving my daughter out to Montana from Ohio for her summer internship in our 2004Rx330. She needed a car there for the summer. We noticed that when the morning temp is cool(38-40 degrees or so) the engine whines when started and is more prominent when you turn steering wheel. Seems to subside once engine is nice and warm and gets going. Can anyone give some insight what it could be before I send her in to a random mechanic? Also does anyone have a mechanic recommended in Billings Montana? I have attached a short video for the audio 😁 Thank you!

 

Definitely sounds like the power steering fluid pump. Is it low on fluid? This gen RX is notorious for leaking racks and when mine leaked and drained almost all the fluid, my pump sounded just like this.
