Default 2008 rx350 repairs

I have 220k miles on my 08 rx350. Original owner. Radiator finally went out last week. When I took it to mechanic my outer tie rods were shot and my front passenger strut mount was making horrible noise. I put monroe struts in the front in 2017 and I found the matching passenger strut mount for $58 online. I did an alignment and car is driving like new. The only other repairs I can think of is getting the oil cooler line changed and the high pressure hose packing changed. Didnt change the hose itself. I started to see rack n pinion like dampened about 7 years ago. The dealer even pushed me to repair it but never did. Dont even worry about it now. Also paid a young mechanic to change my spark plugs at 100k. When I tried to replace them at 200k he never changed the three of them which were harder to get to. Once I changed all 6 it worked like a champ again. Good luck to all. Again I cant think of much maintenance on this car.

That's great. Sounds like it's been a good car for you without any major issues.

well if you are going to continue to keep it and drive it; i would make any necessary repairs that you can safely afford to do. Yea about 5 months ago or so(back in october 2020 I think it was) my original then 13 year old original radiator gave way. I knew something was up because one evening as i was about to be on my way home from dinner; i saw a dark spot on the ground under my rx and i was like "what the heck is this". the next day i went to have it inspected only to find out one side of my radiator was cracked and was leaking. So 650 bucks later a new radiator and coolant flush. Mine now is gonna need new lower control arm bushings pretty soon as well as a new rack and pinion as the worm gear inside my current one which is what helps steering but that is big bucks and so is the lower control arm bushings.

I dont recall about the water pump sorry. I may have done it. I have an 08 is250 and clearly remembering doing it on that one but cant remember on this one. My mom has leased four rx350s last 10 years so hard to keep track.

when I took it to the tire shop they also told me I needed lower control arm bushings. When I got 2nd opinion with my mechanic, he said nope. Only outer tie rods.

What symptoms of bad tie rods do you have?

tough to say because I also had 1 bad front strut mount. With the bad strut mount it was an obvious noise. With bad font outer tie rods it may have caused some unusual steering and misalignment but nothing too crazy on mine
