Help with OEM Navigation Re-Install
Hi Folks,
The OEM navigation screen on my 2009 Lexus RX 350 went black and I lost access to the A/C controls/clock at the same time. It is a well known issue documented in this thread.
I pulled and sent my navigation unit to the good folks at autotechnologyrepair.com. As expected, they diagnosed that my unit had a bad board and replaced it. Working with them was great and hassle free. I highly recommend them!
I am having an unexpected problem. There are two 10 mm bolts to secure the navigation system (see
for detail). Now that I am reinstalling unit, I can't get the bolt holes on the unit and the dash to line up so I can put the bolts through them. The unit seems to be in the dash just fine and secured by the 4 yellow clips. Therefore, I am puzzled why the bolt holes aren't lining up. Has anyone else faced this? Any idea why I can't get to line up right again? Any ideas/advice on reinstalling the unit would be appreciated. What is the downside to simply not replacing those two bolts?
Thank You!

It is supposed to snap in all the way like butter and the screws line up just like when it was removed.
How much off are we talking?
Both sides?
Maybe bracket got bent or may need to loosen bracket screws on Nav unit and reposition them a little if they will- pics would help so we can see what you are looking at.

Thanks Margate330! I didn't think about the bracket being bent. That could have easily happened during shipping. I will take a look at that tonight and try to see if I can easily bend it back. In terms of how far off, on the right side the hole is half covered and on the left side it is completely covered. I will try to pull it all again tonight and see if anything else looks off.
