Default 2007 RX400h clunking steering wheel when centered

Hello,

This is my first post, so greetings everyone.
Recently noticed an issue, which can be very well observed in the attached video (wmw format open with vlc media player)
When the steering wheel is moved left and right in the center, it makes a clunking, almost metallic noise. The noise is located behind the steering wheel. Noticed it when i was running over rail roads and gravel, so it can be observed only on low speed or when completely stopped.
Sounds like a wear rubber to me but the only solution i found so far is to replace the entire steering column.
Anyone else experienced this?

Regards,
Savin

I'm also having the same issue. Did you ever find a resolution?

Clunking noise when turning the s/w, = the universal joint.
