Creaking driver's seat . . . Sounds like . . .
an old wooden boat at sea. It's very loud and extremely annoying. Had it in once . . and it was "fixed" for one week. Does anyone know of a tech bulletin on this? I'd like to bring it back with a factory fix in hand . . so that my time is not wasted again. All help is appreciated of course. My RX330 is perfect otherwise. Peter

Check out this thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=88576 I applied oil where the floor bracket meets the seat rail over a month ago and have not heard a creak since. It's attached two rivets and the bracket is crimped to the rail. I oiled those four points and that seemed to take care of it. |
I did the same thin as above. WD40.

My driver seat has been creaking also (only 600 km's). Thanks for the tip on where it's originating. I would rather quickly try and fix it myself then waste a day at the dealer.
I hope I don't get some of the other noises people have been complaining about. I bought a lexus to avoid that sort of thing. |
Same issue. Told the dealer at 5000 mile servicing. They lubricated something down under there. No problems since.

hey, u should probably tell that to us gx guys about the oil because a few of us, like me have creaking seats. thanx. I'll try it tomorrow.

Resolve to creaking seats . . . .
Thanks for all your suggestions . . none of them worked. Tried the oil; tried silicon. . . . creaks the same. Took to dealership today. Shop foreman acknowledged and ordered new rails for the driver's seat. Two day operation. Says it will fix the problem. Let's see. Peter

Peter,
After I had my '02 RX for about a week, the driver seat started creaking. Took it in and when I got it back, all I could smell was WD-40. After a week, the creaking came back. I spoke with the Service Manager and he said they would swap out the seat with a brand new one. They did and I never had another creak again. I was impressed how this dealership handled it. |
My drivers seat creaked badly. They lubricated it the first time and that fix lasted 2 days. The second time I brought it in they replaced the seat rails, it has been fine ever since.
