2007 Lexus RX350 - Navigation dsyfunction
Hello!
I recently purchased a 2007 Lexus Rx 350. This is a my second Lexus after trading in my 2005 Lexus Rx330 which I drove until 197K.
I noticed that my new 2007 Rx350 navigation screen was black. I contacted the dealer where I purchased the car, and they purchased for me the Navigation DVD (I believe it was the D41 disk). In any event, when I installed the DVD, the navigation screen inside the car, did not recognize the DVD. The navigation screen was still dark with a message to "insert DVD'.
We took the same DVD and installed it into my husband's 2008 Rx350 and his navigation screen immediately recognized it and we could see the information loading. However, when we tried it again on my 2007 Rx 350 . . . nothing! In my car, we can hear the DVD disk loading and spinning, but it still does not "register" in the navigation screen inside the vehicle.
Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?
Thank you
Jordan

I haven't experienced this, but maybe un-plug and re-plug the DVD unit? Or check all connections in the center console, including in the back of the head unit?
These mechanisms are 12 or more years old by now... I wouldn't expect them to function much longer. So many drivers now use their phones as GPS systems, I suspect there's very little DVD drive repair activity going on out there...
