Default 2008 RX350 Smoke only after long drive

Hi all, I have just purchased a 2008 RX with 135k miles.
The car drives beautifully with no smoke on start up or whilst accelerting.
However my normal drive is to drive about 35mins and highway speeds then stop at traffic lights. When i accelerate away from lights a large cloud of smoke comes from rear.
This is only time it smokes.
Appears to be white smoke.

Any thoughts?

Thanks all...as im a little concerned!

To clarify, it doesnt smoke when cold. Only when engine is warm, then I sit idling at lights and accelerate away it produces a large cloud of smoke and ive noticed some oil consumption.

Unfortunately, white smoke is often associated with coolant in the combustion chamber, as in a head gasket leak. Have you checked your oil for foam or your coolant for oil residue? This has not been a common problem with the RX, but can happen with overheating an engine... Good luck!

Thank you for your reply.
No drop in coolant level but a drop in oil level.

Hours of research has me leaning towards valve stem seals (i am e tremely mechanically challendged though!)
No noticable smoke when cold, but once engine is warm running at hwy speeds for 30mins, then stop and idle, accelerate from lights a cloud of smoke.

If this is the case can a heavier grade oil help?

Oil would be blue smoke. Try changing a PCV before anything else if you must change something, but i seriously suggest you bring it to a shop. Don't try self diagnosing, especially as you admit yourself you don't really know whats going on.

Thanks RXGS, I had the PCV replaced Friday. I thought id just ask here incase there were any obvious answers. Ive read too many stories online where the shop just says "you need a new engine".

Sounds like bad valve seals.

most standard fuel in Australia has ethenol. 95 and 98 do not. I have seen very similar symptoms with people who use 91. Only us 98 for a while and see if it improves.

Have all oil/filter changes been carried out on time?

Sorry. (happened to me before).. ...definitely take it to get diagnosed.

Bad valve seals can also cause excessive smoke on a cold start.
