Spare Tire

Try your local junk yards and online recyclers before going to a store, I didn't pickup a wheel for my RX330 but I've picked up a few spares for a few RAV4's (stolen frequently) I maintain and its much cheaper for a used wheel. Then you can either change the tire immediately or change it when you have your other tires done.

Considering the fact it is a "spare tire" , only used for emergencies for a short period of time, best to look used.
A used rim & tire in excellent condition shouldn't cost more than $75.
I purchased on Kijjiji 4- Toyota Rav4 2009 Rims in excellent condition with winter tires (used, only 1,000 miles) for $200.

The RX is equipped with 18" alloy stock rims & Michelins in summer.
Last winter I purchased 18" winter tires & mounted them on the alloys.
I couldn't bring those tires with me since I moved 700 miles, no room in the trailer so I left them with my mechanic as a tip, he has always been much more than fair with me.
This year I figured I would try a 17" set from a Rav4 since the price was right & much easier as a DIY for change overs in fall & spring.
Also hoping to get a little bit of better gas millage although the real bonus is I will save wear & tear on the alloys & the tires, by using 2 sets instead of one set year round.
Plus, here it is law to have winter tires mounted by Dec 15, which is fine, for safety reasons.
I do not think you can install 16" rims & tires on a RX, only 17" or 18".
