2007 rx350 p0011, p0016, cel
Hello All,
This is a great site and I've used it a few times to fix my wife's 2007 RX350 (Canadian Version). I've scoured the site and the interwebs but haven't found a direct solution to this issue.
Today, her car started stuttering, idling high, and has a CEL. I read the codes and am getting two codes:
P0011 "A Camshaft Position Timing Over - Advanced or System Performance Bank 1"
P0016 "Crankshaft Position Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 1 Sensor A"
It seems it might be the Bank A Sensor A that needs replacement, or possibly more involved? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I were you:
Step one: Change engine oil and filter, if oil done recently then goes Step two;
Step two: Check and Clean both Bank's OCV and retainer, if solenoid test fail then replace with a new one,
Test method:. Swap with bank 2 or workshop manual test instruction
DIY check here : 2006 RX330 OCV(VVT) Solenoid and Strainer preventive maintenance
I did my Bank 2 OCV cleaning, Bank 1 is the one close to firewall
Step three: Clear code, drive and see.

You might want to follow the direction listed in this workshop manual here: http://workshop-manuals.com/lexus/rx...ion/locations/
This is for the 2GR-FE engine with timing chain. The above link takes you to the locations page (showing where all the related VVT parts are located in the engine bay), then use the page links on the left to go to the steps needed to access the OCVs. Page 2660 indicates that you need to remove the Intake Air Surge tank to get to the OCV on Bank 1. But in so doing, you may have to use new gaskets, since it says they are not reusable parts. The gaskets are about $8 on MyLexusParts.com. I've just ordered a set myself, since I'm getting a P0014 code.
The Bank 1 OCV is a pain to get to because of the Surge tank, Bank 2 OCVs are right there at the front of the engine, which is great if that's all you need to get to. Otherwise, good luck!
Also, the 2GR-FE engines may not have an oil strainer like in the RX-330s (which are a different engine design, although similar.)
