Default Blown fuse every time i replace interior lights with LED

Every time i go to replace my interior lights with LED, i blow the fuse. I've blown two fuses so i know this is the problem. Are these cars not meant to have LED interior lights? Any info would help, thanks!

I had a similar complaint from a body shop, where they claim that the LEDs were causing blown fuses, this was when the car went to the shop for body work and they had to replace the tailgate and as a result, my license plates lights were out. They came back and claimed that if they replace them with LED's they blow a fuse and therefore just installed the regular bulbs, I say BS.

I have replaced a few bulbs on my RX330 including the license plate bulbs and I do not believe it. Now it could be that some LED bulbs are crappy and have shorts on them. If you purchase reliable LED's, you should be good.

Hmmm, we've never encountered these issue with LEDs before. LEDs run at lower amperage so it should actually be better. What size bulbs did you use and what was the factory bulb size?

This is strange, I have a full LED interior conversion on my RX with no issues. I have also done many LED conversions with no issues. Maybe check the bulb sockets for corrosion and maybe objects that could cause a short? Also check the pins on the bulbs themselves since some are bendable and could be bent to close causing a short.

Although rare, it is possible you are buying bad bulbs, I've had LED switchbacks for my turn signals short internally.

Remove the battery cables before installing. had this problem. Was shorting out the fuse will placing the led bulb in.
